I really get into WWII history. D-Day is such a testament for the fortitude and bravery of thousands of young souls. Such a solemn place I hope to visit one day. That opening scene in Saving Private Ryan where they drop the doors on the Higgins boats. Damn...

I'm always awestruck by it all and visiting Normandy is at the top of my life list as I age. My Dad made it through boot camp to try and get in to action until they discovered he was 15.

It would be so awesome if Woopig and the media kept the hyper emotional politics out of today's remembrance.

The scope of it is just mind boggling. Eisenhower moved a quarter million men, 7,000 boats, and 12,000 aircraft across the Channel in one night. I know some of yall are in logistics and supply chain. He did all of that without sending a single email.

Over the past few weeks, I've been watching Band of Brothers with my oldest son for the first time. Didn't intend to finish it the night before D-Day, but that's how it worked out.

Well, I let my youngest watch the last episode with us where they're showing final interviews with the men who were still living. Of course, my son had a million questions about D-Day, the war and the men. Long story short, when I go to tuck him in last night I overhear him praying for the men who fought and for those who died.

Pretty cool Dad moment.

We don't homeschool. My kids go to public school, but my wife was a teacher who now works from home. She's very good about having the boys supplement and continue their education through the summer. This may be a good opportunity for them to learn about the war in the depth that it deserves.

It's very good. Props set up in different rooms depicting different theaters of operation. Visual footage of said battles etc. with audio of actual men telling their stories to kinda go along with the videos.

There aint no men anymore. Crazy the things they did and went through.

He was there with Joe to trash the Russians and brag about 350,000 Russian casualties in the Ukraine.  You know, the Russians, our allies during WW II.

It's kind of crazy.  Even during the Cold War we would send contingents a lot of years to march in their Victory Day Parade.  But now, Putin is Hitler. 

Really disrespectful to everyone there to turn this event into politics.
