Meh. Let's talk about visiting teams going to places like McClellan or Central on Friday nights in the 80s. If you won the game you had to have a police escort just to get out of the parking lot.

This is true, but the coach, player, and fan behavior has gotten much, much worse over the past 30 years.  I saw it first hand as an official.  20-30 years ago, a player would be causing problems and I could talk to his coach and it would get taken care of.  Now, the coaches won't do anything...they just let the kids act as stupid as they want.  Personally, I think the coaches are all afraid of the players because they can just leave and go to the school down the road next year.

True enough. Gone are the days of "you're going to run bleachers Monday until I get tired!"

Try Eudora in the 70s. I wish I could get the Facebook to load right. It turns out England is like Mid South wrestling coming to town, complete with heel managers. He pretty much is calling for the school board to fire the Karen superintendent for leaving at the beginning of the brawl and then posting about how entertaining her grandson found the 6 cop cars and ambulances while munching on some delicious nachos but she was okay and thanks for checking. He also told the head coach what a piece of shit he was and to look him up if he didn't like it. From personal experience and what this guy relates, they're the Florida men of Arkansas.

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

A Facebook post said that England got what they wanted, costing Barton a chance at the championship.

We had a team mate at Dover in 76 who was expelled from Eudora.  A black guy walked up to him at school and called him a mother fucker.  He was drinking a coke at the time, and flipped the bottle to hold it by the neck, and busted it over the black guy's head.  Came up to Dover, and made all state at nose guard.

I played for Benton.  We had a game against J.A. Fair.  We were shooting freethrows and I'm on the low block.  The J.A. player standing next to me, who was called for the foul, coldly and matter of factly told the ref that he had something for him after the game.  I immediatly backed away as the ref ejected him.  The early 90s kids at those Little Rock schools went hard.

We got in a brawl at the end of a game at Dover in '82. The entire night was a masterclass in hometown officiating but we were so much better than Dover it didn't matter. I think we had 5 straight plays where they called us for defensive PI or holding.
At the end of the game while we were walking up the hill, some redneck got in the face of our biggest, meanest redneck and called him a n***** lover. He proceeded to rearrange that guys nose with the helmet he was carrying. It was on after that move.
We went straight to the bus and hauled ass out of town with a few rocks thrown at our bus on the way off campus.

Agreed.  I would have been ran until I puked with that kind of behavior (warranted or not).  CSB: I did get ran until I and my team puked a couple of times but we had a strong willed coach (94-97).

It's different these days but my kids will always be taught to treat with respect until disrespected then take up for themselves.

You were at PA right?

That sounds pretty much like Dover back then, except for the rock throwing.  Never heard about that happening before.  Pretty fucking stupid.

I never understood Dover being in the same conference as Pulaski Academy, Pulaski North (?), Pulaski Robinson, and Pulaski Oak Grove.  We got the shit beat out of us by all of them.  We had just started our football program back up in 1972, after I think a 30 year hiatus.

I don't think that 2A game turned out the way anyone expected.  Barton played better than they have all year, even without some players and beat Mount Vernon Enola 89-44.  They were so hot, at the end of the first half, Barton shot from 70 or so feet and the announcer said something like, "I expect that one to go in too."  :D

Barton came in with the old Nolan chip on the shoulder us against the world mentality.
