On this day, Thomas Jefferson submitted the final draft of the Declaration to the Continental Congress.  On July 2, Congress agreed to declare independence.  On July 4, the Declaration of Independence was formally approved.  Most of the delegates would sign on August 2. 

Today, they got the draft.  After 6 days of debate, they'll look at a kickass document that ends with "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."  They knew what will happen if they lose, and they'll say hell yeah let's do it for Dale.

At least rewatch Episode 2 of John Adams on HBO.  The silence in the room once Congress realizes what it just did is my favorite part of the series.

Turn is one of those shows that takes me back to where I was the first time I watched it.

Turn is maybe the most well acted, written and directed show I have ever watched. We finished it up about a month ago and went straight from that to The Dutton Ranch. The overall drop in quality was palpable.

I didn't feel like cooking so I opted for some Ballpark hotdogs with caramelized onions (butter, earls, red pepper flake, soy sauce, garlic seasoning concoction)...added cheese and steamed the buns. It tasted like America. 


Gonna go shoot some guns now and maybe have some bacon snacks later as I sit in the air conditioning.
