Might as well get it started.  Mine is at son and DiL's house in Oklahoma.  Never know what we'll get.  It's usually a midwestern spread of mild mannered foods and convenience items.  We'll make a few things to take.

I prefer good homemade things over turkey and ham.  Barbecue, or Tex Mex, or chicken fried steak with cream gravy.  Will report.

Fuck tradition. We're doing Spaghetti Bolognese.

BleedinRed

Frying a turkey and smoking a turkey.

I see apples on the counter so a pie is forthcoming.  I see yams and pecans so diabetes is also on the menu.

I was told a sister-in-law is making poppy seed chicken.

Just going traditional roast turkey. Dry brining. Mashed potatoes, gravy, chicken and dressing, and whatever sides other people bring. Pumpkin cake roll. And lots of bourbon.

What's a brutha gotta do to get some crock-pot dressing up in here?

My wife made these sweet potato balls.  I hate sweet taters but you might like them.
Basically cook your sweet potatoes and mash them. She make sweet ones and savory ones.

Sweet:  season the mash with brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg.  Take a marshmallow and encase in the mash.  Roll in chopped pecans and put in the air fryer. Or derp fry.

Savory. Season  mash with butter, cayenne, salt pepper.  Make a composed butter with chopped fresh jalapeƱos and some cream cheese.  Freeze it in balls for a bit.  Encase in mash. Roll in chopped pecans and coarse salt.  Air fryer til crispy.

We are going to Nashville for my Thanksgiving with my bf's fam. I hope it's decent and not weird fucking casseroles.
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

I went to my BIL's family thanksgiving in 2019 when we moved up here to Cleveland. They're all pretty fat so I thought the food was going to be good, but it was the blandest stuff I've ever eaten. Basic honky Midwestern cuisine really sucks.

I'm not sure what we're having. My wife isn't a massive fan of thanksgiving food so we're probably going to do something different. Deciding either between chicken schwarma or pizza.

Dad won an extended stay at a physical therapy center thanks to a fall and broken arm, so friends are cooking for me and Mom.  This will be a fun year of not having to cook anything.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Someone will be along shortly to say they're doing oysters in their dressing

Since my mom hurt her knee (torn tendon and broken bone). I will be running the show.

Fried Turkey, BGE Smoked ham, Dressing, SPC, GBC, Salad, Red Velvet Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie.

My nephew is making some crawfish casserole and some side dishes. ::)

Hopefully he is not making his version of Pecan Pie which has molasses in it but no sugar. Tastes awful.
The dildo of consequence, rarely arrives lubed.

My grandmother made regular and oyster dressing. Nothing like canned oysters baking to stink up a house.  Like baking cat food.

Maybe his family will present you an array of family favorite congealed salads. My other grandmother would have some new one every Thanksgiving.  Lemon jello, sour cream, tuna fish.  Putrid but the old man made me always taste it "to be polite".

my step grandmother would make oyster dressing and it was fucking awful.

Eating Thanksgiving at someone else's house is like going into a potluck. You never know what ya may get or how bad or good of a chef some are. I tend to stick to the basics when eating elsewhere. We had a Friendsgiving Saturday and the dressing tasted like corn pudding.

Literally no one makes oyster dressing. There is no such thing.

The instant somebody throws oysters in, it becomes oyster stuffing.

I love oysters.  I love dressing.  Seems to be the perfect pair.

I hate thanksgiving. Was hoping the woke mob would've ended it by now.
