You should see the apartments going up in Rogers where Whole Foods is going.  6-7 stories tall and stick frame all the way up.  These investors are planning on selling that place and I pity the fool that buys it.

A lot of buildings in the OKC metro are the same way.  Municipal inspectors were getting paid off, third-party inspectors were a combination of stupid and corrupt.  Culminated in kids being killed under a collapsed storm shelter roof.  I showed up after that to double-check a similar building under construction, asked the contractor to point out to me which cells in the CMU wall had the rebar and therefore cement in them, asked the architect standing there to verify that those were the ones that were designed to be filled, and then slammed a dead-blow hammer into the empty cell.  The contractor skipped rebar and cement in all the walls and then acted like I was the bad guy.  I eventually had too many disagreements with my boss and walked away from that company, but to his credit he hated bribes as much as I do. 

We have too many architects and public-sector engineers/inspectors/PMs that have zero actual construction experience, and it shows.  Design-Build is still the "new" thing but it used to be the normal thing 100 years ago.

We got some that was golf ball size. Ripped holes in our screens but the windows survived.  It got bad enough that I went to the safe space.  We live off of Don Tyson between Carley and 40th.  I've seen some trees broken off and the street covered with leaves.
