Quote from: SwahiliSteve on Jan 30, 2026, 11:59 AMHow's central arkansas now? Just spoke to my parents who live in memphis and they said it's fucking insane the lack of anything being done. They said the freeway is clear but they haven't seen a truck treating any streets at all. Said FedEx, usps and ups all weren't even running until yesterday

Fedex and UPS have been running all week, just limited. We've been shipping patient critical orders all week.

Quote from: buff2.0 on Jan 30, 2026, 12:10 PMWent to visit Mom last night at a rehab place off Rahling.  There was a bit of a patch on Chenal in one lane, and past Bowman it was mostly only one full lane clear.  Shitshow once I got off that road though.  Still better than I expected.

The Summit?

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Not without salt or higher temps it won't. For those Munis and contractors who didn't buy in the fall, salt is hard to find right now. Lots of small business guys have been driving several states over to load up and take it back home for jobs, and business is good.

No school tomorrow on account of someone saw a chunk of ice in the road. What pussies we've become. I risked my life daily to go to school when I was a teenager. Only nearly died a few time...but by god those brushes with death you'll never forget the rest of your life and it helps build character.

I still remember the day Arkansas Baptist opened even though every other school in LR was either closed or opening on a delay, and the state offices were all closed.  Road was ice, half the students didn't show, and the school tried to punish them anyway.

Fuck em, I was there.  (Mom made me go)

Raining here now. Our back yard looks like The Shining as the fog from the ice lifts.

Well, shit...

I shoveled the driveway yesterday... more accurately chopped it out. 2 inches of nice sleet on top with 2 inches of ice underneath. The snow we got last year was easy compared to this. I could have built a nice igloo.

We had about 6" of ice, then a little snow, then another 6" of ice. When we chipped it away from our garage, you could see the layers. Weird.
Well, shit...

That must've been hell doing that from your wheelchair. Was Meals on Wheels still able to deliver to you?

You should have looked me up last year when I was sick. You might have had a chance. I'm back to being a buck now, so you missed your shot.

You remind me so much of those spastic, socially awkward retards that used to get picked on and beaten up in grade school. Sorry life has been hard for you.

Never thought you'd admit it. Acceptance is the first step in recovery.
