Out of all the new weather jargon, heat dome is my least favorite. We're about to be under one.

Heard that a few times when I lived in Oklahoma.  Started hearing it here in Arkansas more recently.  Heat dome in Oklahoma isn't bad - it just feels like you're in a convection oven with a lot of hot, dry air baking you.  Heat dome in Arkansas is a totally different animal and is as close to hell as I ever plan on getting.  I had a heat stroke 14 years ago and now I can't mow my yard in the summer here without getting dizzy spells every time I stand up for a couple days after.

The humidity the last 3 days in NWA has been at 100% almost all day which has sucked for those of us with outside jobs.

In another note the Utah fires are nuts this year. We keep getting smoke in Colorado messing up the views of the mountains. Sorta glad we decided against northern Utah and Idaho and instead go to Wyoming after the fourth. Boise down to Tucson is just getting ripped with no rain, high winds and low humidity.

So you're telling me we should cancel our trip to Utah for next week?

That's how it always is in Arkansas.
We just call it August and September.

We've had a mild spring/early summer so far.

The dick of doom is probably on the way.

That's been the pattern for the last several years. I hope it continues. It was a wonderful spring. One thing that seems to hold every year is that it's freaking hot the first week of July.

Wildfires in Utah and western Colorado are really fucking up the views and air quality here. Plus it's been hot as hell this past week but the wind is ripping

It is hot but the hype for this shit is just so dumb.

Its summer. Buy an air conditioner. Hell buy two.

My ac bill has been cheaper than last year. It's not nearly as hot as it was last summer at this time. Now Europe I'm not sure...they don't even have ac in most places which seems dumb. I just looked at temps at Rome, Albania, Venice, Lisbon, ect and I don't know wtf these people are bitching about over there. It's not that hot. Low 90s but mostly upper 80s. wtf

It was as 104 in Paris the other day.  Uh...it was 105 on Saturday and 103 on Sunday in Berlin.  For perspective Berlin is as far or farther north than some of the Aleutian Islands and Northern Canada.  And those temps followed a week in the 90s.

That's pretty hot anywhere not named Phoenix or Doha.  And would be pure hell in a place where air conditioning is generally unneeded and unavailable.
