Just a situation made for getting stomped.  Florida playing very well.  At their place.  An 8:30 game so no chance of catching them sluggish with a day game and of course, the crowd was well lubricated and alert. Much hyped game had them ready to prove a point.  SEC officiating. 

And so on.

At least we didn't resort to just jacking 3's. We took a lot of shots from 10 feet to the rim that we missed. I'm not sure it was intimidation or that our guards aren't going to be able to hit circus shots against a taller well disciplined defense. Thomas and Acuff were forcing some shots instead of driving and looking to kick it out to an open man. They are all good at finishing if they have their man beat. We just couldn't beat their guys. There has to be some way to get Brazile more than 3 shots.

They were very physical with us in ways that would get us fouled out in a hurry if we did it.  That threw us off our game.  They just muscled us off our spots.

Brazile, Ewin, and Pringle are all finesse big men. They have looked bad against power bigs and teams with more size. We got almost nothing out of them last night and if Brazile is not hitting the three shots (he hasn't been the past few games) he offers little in this style game. We are a good team but we are going to lose to every team we play with size and power inside unless we shoot well from outside. 
We can get to the second weekend of the tournament but not likely to get past that unless we get a soft draw.

I think it is pretty clear we have built a resume off beating teams outside the top 25 while losing most of our games against top 25 teams.  We are a paper tiger.   We will make it to the sweet 16 but will then be bounced.  We are no where near a top 15 team.   It is what it is.

This certainly lines up with every other Razorback bed shitting game I have watched over the last few decades. Like 20+ point loss bed shitting.

We really should just bet the farm on Razorback bed shitting.

I don't know if we're redshirting him, but otherwise getting Dzafic minutes just to bang with more physical post players could protect them for later in games.  Get him minutes before the TV timeouts when our bigs might be tired and start reaching instead of getting position.  Could he possibly be less effective than Pringle?

I think everyone, including me, wondered at the beginning of the season if we had anyone hitting bigs. The answer is NO. We aren't going very far in the tourney. Bigs seem to be a problem for us every year. Not having them, that is.

this time last year we got shit stomped by a terrible south carolina team and lost to vandy by like 15 the very next game. ended up in the sweet 16.

i think we looked intimidated last night, something you don't see from this team very often.

That SC game last year was comically bad. I couldn't even be mad, I was laughing like a jackass in my recliner. I don't remember what they had at halftime but we only had 14 iirc. And that was after having scored 3 w/ around 7 minutes to go in the half.

I'm still in disbelief of saturday night's game. I thought we were better than that.  They beat our asses on both ends of the court.  Bad.

The margin was shocking, but the fact that we lost handily to Florida shouldn't have surprised anyone who had seen Pringle, Ewin, and to a lesser extent Brazile play.  This was always going to be a bad matchup for us. 

We are a solid inside threat - offensively and defensively - from being a title contender.  Our only hope of advancing past the Sweet Sixteen is to avoid the teams who have more than one competent big guy who can play at the same time.  On the plus side there are only a handful of those at most.  But it would take divine intervention to allow us to avoid all of them, which is our only slim hope of taking home hardware.
