I have a pet peeve in baseball. Stop the clapping with 2 strikes. It rarely works. It's the equivalent of clapping/yelling when your team is shooting FTs. Pitcher needs to focus. Not be distracted.

highly doubtful the players hear any sound the fans are making.

I have a strong hunch that this is DVH's last ride. He deserves a last hoorah.

DVH deserves to go out however he wants, but I hope he announces his final season before it begins so he can get celebrated by sell-out crowds at every home game.

And then I hope we build him a statue because he won a Championship this year.

He was pretty emotional in the presser. I posted the link from X where he and the Creighton coach were chatting after the game. DVH made the comment "I'm not far behind you" when mentioning the Creighton coach retiring.

I caught that as well. He's seemed more at peace this year. Hopefully this isn't it for him, because we need a head start on his replacement like we got when Norm backchanneled with DVH all season before he hung it up.

It's gonna be interesting to see who our next hire will be. You have guys Vitello and Johnson that have strong ties to Arkansas and have done well as a HC in the SEC. Then you have 2 fairly long tenured assistants that have been big contributors to our success. I think DVH will have a strong say in the hire.

This team seems really close.  I know a couple of weeks ago I saw an interview of DVH when he said something that may be important-- it was like "this team really likes each other."
