It's gonna be interesting to see who our next hire will be. You have guys Vitello and Johnson that have strong ties to Arkansas and have done well as a HC in the SEC. Then you have 2 fairly long tenured assistants that have been big contributors to our success. I think DVH will have a strong say in the hire.

I wouldn't count Hobbs out if we go the assistant route.

We're known for pitching and he's an elite recruiter. It wouldn't surprise me if Hobbs gets the job if we don't get Vitello, Johnson, or a big name out of left field.

This team seems really close.  I know a couple of weeks ago I saw an interview of DVH when he said something that may be important-- it was like "this team really likes each other."

I like the way they cheer for each other. It always seems like Diggs is one the first people to congratulate Maxwell when he does something good. Peppi is always yelling for the other folks. Some of them could have got mad and pouted, but they didn't. This team really does seem tight.

Going into the regional, DVH was asked about the '23 and '24 teams coming up short and if he'd learned anything from those teams and failures.

He said bluntly that this team was better than those teams and it wasn't particularly close, they like each other, but also that the last 2 teams had guys who had their minds on other things (presumably the draft) and weren't focused on the baseball in front of them.

I am a Diggs fan.  I really hoped he would snap out of his funk.  He and McEntire have given a lot to the program over the last 3 or 4 years and I'd like to see both be able to contribute at some point before the last pitch.

We lost everyone from last year's team except for Aloy, Wood, Gaeckle, and a few bullpen arms.

Hell of a job of roster construction by DVH and the staff in building a talented team that gelled.

Gotta be Maxwell or Davalan.

Maxwell went 5-8 with 4 RBI and 3 runs
Davalan went 3-5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs

Maxwell had the better stat line and probably the biggest swing of the postseason, but Davalan had a crucial hit in both games. His RBI single on Saturday was the difference in the game, and his 2 run homer jumpstarted our offense yesterday.
