Yeah, I don't think of it as choking as much as just being absolutely snakebit.

We had arguably our best pitcher ever struggle in the postseason last year. Why couldn't we be on the other side of that for one measly game, like last night?

Arguably we have twice for Tennessee's ace, who apparently shuts down everyone except us.

As I said in the softball thread, the bigger the stage, bit bigger the Razorbacks choke.  It goes across all major sports with the lone exception of 1994.  It is just the way it is.

We may one of the best teams in Omaha, but we are not built to win there. In that stadium, teams built to hit HR aren't going to win consistently.   

We always tried it the other way, that didn't work either.

Putting this out into the universe — the absolute best case scenario for us would be for UCLA to beat LSU in the 1-0 game. That means we (presumably) wouldn't face Anderson or Eyanson in the elimination game, assuming we handle business against Murray State.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that LSU only had 6 hits and scored 3 in one inning only hitting one ball out of the infield. They weren't exactly raking last night. This is the same team that got taken to a winner-take-all game in the regional by a sub-.500 Little Rock team. Who's to say UCLA doesn't give them all they can handle?

Baseball was my true love, but even now, We just aren't going to make it. Ever. No matter how good we see to be, there is always someone else better. We just can't get to the summit.

I've said this on a few occasions, but I'm of the opinion that the most likely scenario is that DVH never wins a title and then his successor wins one within a few years of taking over.

The last question DVH was asked last night was about Wood starting Monday. He said that was the plan right then but it might change by today.

I'd go beetlejuice. He does well against no so great teams. Murray might be the only team in the tournament that he can pitch well against.

Almost exactly the same swing. The only two major differences are location of the target and no back swing in baseball.

I made a sarcastic comment before,
but agree it's a myth. The swing mechanics are very similar.

The main problem with playing golf with baseball or softball was usually when doing both in the same day. You'd be worn out from being in the sun half the day.

Hell, I'd even consider (key word here) going the Fisher, McGuire route. If you make it back to LSU you're gonna have to use them at some point. Wouldn't Murray St be the best option vs having to use them to beat LSU?
