Well, you said you didn't love the decision (Root starting) and that it would be easier to beat UCLA with a patchwork game.

Correct. Which remains true. And which I only stated after Root's name was announced. No one was going to roast DVH for not pitching Root when no one thought Root was even available.

Think about it this way. If we HAVE to do a "patchwork" game (and I think we will), are we more likely to win that game against UCLA or LSU?

It's not really about right or wrong.

He's on short rest but after only 38 pitches. I mean, that's pretty reasonable to consider him available.

For the record, I wasn't trying to tout my prognostication skills like HTL. I was just sharing a thought process.

That's fine. I was blowing back against whoever said we would torch DVH for not pitching Root.  I don't think it was you, that was what started me down the rabbit hole though.
