Agreed. Gaeckle starting just makes me nervous.

He's a completely different pitcher coming out of the pen in long relief vs. starting.

It's risky, but I'd prefer an opener approach with Gaeckle at the ready after 6 outs. But I have approximately 40 fewer years of baseball coaching experience than DVH so what do I know.

I really don't feel like the ladies shit the bed. They fought hard, never gave up, and Nebraska knows they are lucky to have gotten the win. They didn't play like shit and lose. Our first time there and we put on a show. Even if they lose tonight, they did all right in my eyes.

Yes, I agree. We WERE the underdog in the game.

It would've been nice if we'd just not screwed up that throw in from the outfield. Mental errors by two players opened the door for them. The next batter hit a grounder up the middle that Rijo stopped but didn't have a play. She would've if the runner on second (and made it to third there) was back on first running to second where she should've been.
