We don't have to throw Dietz against Mo State. We can throw Gaeckle. If he struggles then just go to Coil or Fisher or Gibler. I would save Dietz for a potential 1-0 game against the host Jayhawks.

That would be ideal. I hope you're right but they already beat us once, though it was against our midweek pitchers. I'm not sure DVH will take any chances.

The interview of Gaeckle after his good performance in SECT was about how he is much better in relief, and why?  He didn't really know.

But considering that, wouldn't the better plan be a scrub for 1 batter (we have plenty to pick from), then Gaeckle in relief?

Also, anyone have a link to full schedule of game times through the weekend?  All I am finding is Friday, KU-Northeastern at noon then Hogs-Missouri St at 5.

I think you'd have to get to at least inning 2 for him to feel like it's a relief situation.

The rest of the regional schedule is typically TBD, pending game results.

Agree 100%.  Unfortunately we were not comparing Kansas and Arkansas.  We were talking Miss St and Arkansas.  In Kansas' case, ticket sales isn't all there is to the equation.  Kansas deserved to host more than we did. 

Regardless, let's beat their ass and get to the Supers.

The bad news in baseball is, a chip on the shoulder doesn't really help when you run into a pitcher locating with velocity and movement. It's not like basketball and football where adrenaline and effort often help in better results.

Agreed, he's rightfully pissed and was almost preempting it in the SEC tournament press conferences talking about our resume.

It means guys like Helfrick, Gaeckle and Coil and perhaps some of the draft eligible guys have played their last games at Baum. Hopefully that can fuel them in the tournament.
