He is DVH's biggest career mistake and most likely will be the reason that DVH legacy is compared to Mike Martin rather than one of the all time greats.

You joke but that is 100% the coaching philosophy.  It has been for Daves entire tenure.  He still thinks getting into the bullpen via the pitch count will yield better results than just swinging at what the pitchers give.  That why you see our guys take strike one every time or be ahead 3-0 and take a perfect pitch down the middle.  It's maddening.
