Then a base hit to left. Run scores. 2-0 them, no outs, runners at first and second.

We've hit into 2 or 3 inning ending double plays tonight.

I've harped on this all season, but we are hitting a shitload of ground balls this year and it's frustrating the hell out of me. I haven't looked at the data, but I would assume we're way up on GIDPs as well due to that (I know I've seen my fair share).

It's one thing to put the ball in play, but when you can't hit the ball out of the infield it's very concerning.

We've definitely hit into more than we've turned.

We don't hit for power and we don't hit in clutch situations. I'm hoping everyone gets hot at the same time around June. Wishful thinking eh?

That's the main issue. Our power numbers are way down.

The most damning stat is slugging %.

We're only slugging .452 as a team this year, and we've mostly played a weak OOC schedule (which usually inflates your power numbers). Compare that to last year when we slugged .547 for the entire season, which includes the SEC games and Omaha.

We have our own share of curses, but South Carolina has the Costello curse.

When we played them for the right to go to the finals in 2012 they were two time defending champs. Perry Costello handed them an unearned trip to the championship series, where karma did what it does and sent them home. Since then their program has been basically ass.

Notice how we never benefit from karma correcting these teams who profit from the fuckings we receive. But at least they get their dicks knocked in the dirt for taking advantage of our misery.
