Lots to this story.  Much still to come out.  It's just awful.  Supposedly he'd had suicide ideations for a while according to girl friend.  The police chase seems just a part.

Started at 1030 when he left house with a gun.  GF called police, his agent, the cowboys.  He had said he was going to harm himself and said goodbye to his family.  Police tried to pull over on a traffic stop, he eluded them, they gave up chase.  They found his car wrecked, abandoned.  At 130 they found him in a portapotty with a self inflicted wound.  Just awful.

This kid was a unrecruited 2 star that ended up at western Michigan, tore it up at senior bowl, got drafted 2nd round by Cowboys.  Got hurt early last year and was just getting a groove this season.  Recovered the blocked punt Monday night for a TD.  They loved  his potential, his locker room demeanor, his diligence in the film room.  They gave him 94, a Dallas "special" number.  He looked like one of those many out of nowhere stories the nfl is full of.

He must have just buried it.  The Cowboys for their flaws, go beyond the pale suporting troubled players, whether Michael Irvin, or Gregory, Josh Brent, Tyron smith, even fucking Kelvin Joseph. 

So hug your lived ones.  You never know.

Being 24 he grew up in an era with more awareness to head impacts, and the issues of linemen with repetitive small impacts vs skill positions who take fewer but more severe impacts.  It now looks like CTE can appear in anyone besides athletes, from jet skis to simple genetics. 

He supposedly has a history of mental illness that he has buried in his achievements.  Suicide ideation is serious shit, and once a person enters that realm intervention, treatment, therapy, love is often a failing path.  They will simply do it at first opportunity. 

He was doing great with the Cowboys.  Coaches and players loved him. Had close friends.  Had a girlfriend who alerted cops and his agent.  Who knows maybe she broke up with him.  We don't know.  Sad
