interims aren't usually given the nod to fire coordinators mid season. they're there to ride it out and do what they can.

a lot of assumptions petrino even wants the job, interim or not. just have to see if he's asked.

I'd argue talent is made up of more than physical ability.   Intelligence, where give a shit lives, is at a minimum equally important.
