I would say it really looks like Petrino has some money behind him.  That's a good sign.  We have boosters for whom $20 million would be a rounding error.  We need to get them involved.

I'm not complaining but I seriously hope someone is prepared to throw money around to bring in a bunch of temporary replacements.

Maybe throw a bunch of money of Muschamp. He's not coaching this season and might be DC for a year if the price is right.

Ohh I like that.

Previous generations didn't like it, but they didn't have the transfer portal to up and leave whenever they wanted and play immediately at another school.  I think most coaches are scared of the players now because of the portal.  They are scared of the players leaving if they (coaches) are too hard on them.  I've seen it first hand.

I think that's painting with too broad of a brush.

Sure, a lot of them are entitled twats who won't allow anyone to raise their voices at them.  But there are plenty of kids out there who will accept hard coaching, provided the benefit of winning or getting a chance at the pros seems realistic.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

For the first time in a long time, it feels like someone gives a fuck in the football program

My son just texted me he has 10 tackles and 0 sacks in 5 games.  So, yeah.

Put yourself in Bobby's shoes...he's staring at a L each week to round out the season. Do you want that on your record? I'd say he had some leverage and was given full control over what happens next. At least thru the remainder of the season.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

vegashog

presser's going to be interesting.

and all the fire yurachek talk got gone with a quickness.

Texzilla

I hope he just sent these three loafers a text.  You're fucking fired.  Your shit is packed up; pick up your box at the reception desk.  Bring your school ID and parking pass.

It feels like BP has a lot of backing.  I can't remember a head coach ever being fired and when one of the assistants were promoted to interem they had the power to immediatly clean house.  This doesn't seem normal but maybe it is.

See, I'd have him off the team before his next class, and that's why I'm not coaching this NIL generation of retards.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Either way, none of them were being retained. Might as well let him do what he thinks is best and let the chips falls where they do.

They may have the reigns to do it, but don't because who are they going to get to fill those shoes?  Also, a lot of emphasis gets put on consistency in the face of losing a HC.

Then why do it?  I mean, if BP doesn't think he really has a shot to be the next HC why make those firings.  Just ride out the eyar and everyone moves on.  He has to feel like he has a real shot for this to turn permanent.  These moves signal he is planning for the future.

or it was something pittman was told to do and he didn't. if that was the case, they were getting canned regardless.

I wasn't commenting on Petrino, really.  More responding to your statement regarding other interims not canning coordinators and coaches.  They may have that power, they may not have.  I don't know.  Just saying that they may have had it and simply didn't use it for the reasons I stated.

You may be right in how Petrino is thinking right now.  He very well could be taking this as a serious shot and planning for the future.  Or, to play devil's advocate here, he may not like Twill and crew and simply figures an untrained monkey can do better so got rid of him.  There may also be something to the rumors about in fighting between them... and he said fuck you you're out because he doesn't want opposition from his coordinators.  Could be as simple as he figures it's the only way to get the D off their asses and actually playing.  Might have nothing to do with the future but the right here and now.  No idea.

What we do know is, Bobby is showing he still has some "motherfucker" left in him... and we can hope that translates to a culture shift.

BASS

it won't happen, but i want us to take on the heel role, full wwe style.  bmfp walks out in all black and sunglasses, says "Bobby Motherfucking Petrino is back", picks up a steel chair and hits Yurachek over the head with it and walks out. somebody cues ac/dc back in black and blares it over the speakers.
Fuck your feelings

I'll give Cam Ball a break, dude reportedly turned down a lot of money to stay here. Deke became a father figure after his dad passed this summer.

But it is a reality check that this is a results world

  I wasn't trying to be argumentative if that is how it came across.

100% on the bolded part.  I hope BP turns things around this year. BMFP was a glourious thing.
