Probably his dose of reality during the presser when he pointed out that you can't transfer and play right now.

If you want to transfer, your best bet to transfer well and make some money is to show up and show out in the next 7 games.

I'm sure he repeated that to the players.  Basically, play hard or Bobby can bury you and you'll be left transferring to Jonesboro or Tulsa.

Speaking of Jonesboro.  How bad do you have to be to have been boat raced by the 2025 Pittman Razorbacks?

I want to see a Calipari Petrino joint appearance so that the sports internet can collectively explode.

I'd love to see a giveashit from our guys. Hopefully BMFP can get that in them.

Bobby knew in spring 2024 that KJ Jackson was the future of this football team. In a panic of a move in Dec 2023, they bought Taylen. They had no backup plan. Bobby's choice and Fletch's money.

They had to play him. He prays to the Lord (which I have no problems with) but he is borderline retarded (Vince Young level Wonderlics) and is not fit to be QB1 in SEC play. His only future in football is at WR and I pray that he is there and KJ is taking snaps in Knoxville.

I think that is gonna be interesting to see as well. Was Green Petrino's guy? He has raved about KJ.

Doc Hogaday

Yeah...Petrino recruited Green while at MOST.

I think Petrino likes Green and has stubbornly stuck with him for a reason.  I'm relatively confident if he thought that KJ was a better option, he'd have been playing him.

I have a feeling that if Green shits the bed bad enough, we'll see KJ.

Petrino is going to go balls out and do whatever he can to get the full time job. He's going to go with the best option, damn the commitments or NIL agreements.

Remember, Green got benched for a series last year against Auburn, in a game we won.

Maybe. Or maybe not. I guess we will see soon enough. I could see there being pressure to play the top NIL guy too. But, I think Bobby has a long leash the rest of this season to do it his way. I think we will see it evidenced on all 3 phases. He's an extreme micro manager and demands exceptional efforts. Whether he gets that or not, will determine his future here.

Feral

Goes without saying, but it'll be interesting to see what the crowds are like the rest of the way in Fayetteville.

I suppose that might somewhat be determined how we do against Tennessee and whether we play an egg with a team full of quit, but I could see turnout being decent to good just to see a Bobby P led team, at least until the novelty wears off.

I'm not sold on the notion that Bobby would be pressured by NIL.  I think he stubbornly clings to some things, we all know he has a history of doing that.  He also has a love of guys that can do special things.  He used to frequently say of Mallett that there were 3-4 plays every game that no other QB could have made.  He has said similar about Green.  Which also brings up a real pro/con of Bobby's system... He relies on his QB being smart enough to bail him out of a bad play.  I don't think TG has the smarts or length of leash to do that.  Mallett did, and even then he and Petrino would sometimes butt heads with Petrino being mad that Mallett changed the call, even though the call Mallett made was the right one.  He needs a QB that is smart, and has the force of will and character to make the right call and stand up to him.  I don't think TG has that... and he definitely doesn't have the long leash.  Of course, you're also correct.  We shall see if Bobby starts putting out KJ.

Hell, I'm tempted to buy tickets.  If this year plays out and Bobby is the man next year, I will 100% be booking tickets and flights for me and my son to see a BMFP led team at home.  Back in 2010 and 2011 I simply couldn't due to work and family stuff, and had planned 2012 to go to Bama or Ole Miss, and then USCe.  Alas, I was cheated (I will never forgive Jeff Long).  Of course, if we look like we might be able to do something maybe I'll make the Mizzery game.  I'd like to make MSST, but no chance of that as I'm helping my mom move on October 31.

On the subject of Petrino's future.  It has been mentioned here many times and DJ keeps reiterating it on his podcast.  Bobby has become very predictable.  Some of that is TG always selecting the same option during a play call... whether it is that super predictable RPO, or some of the route options on a pass.  DJ was harping on it again last night.  I can't help but wonder if that is a result of TG, Bobby losing his edge, the O not grasping enough of the playbook, Bobby's stubbornness, or what.  However, it is obvious that defenses have sniffed out and solved for many of his tendencies.  I'll be interested to see if some of that changes moving forward... If not, Bobby probably isn't the guy.

animal

I'm in favor of ditching a lot of that RPO bullshit in favor of some meat and potatoes pro style play calling. Green is still going to get plenty of run opportunities out of broken plays and forced runs because of coverage down the field.

Green is not the future...KJ may be the future at Arkansas or elsewhere with or without Bobby. If KJ is "ready" then I'd expect there to be a shift to him at some point this season maybe with a 4 or 5 games left. This benefits him and Bobby in terms of potential chemistry moving forward.

Our running game has not been good and I'd expect a different look out of that coming. We've got too good of RBs to not be getting more out of them than we are. Something has to change. We need to be leaning on the running game to run clock and keep our fucking shitty defense off the field. Play ball control provided we aren't giving up TDs left and right.
