I am not totally convinced it is coaching. We don't have the players. Whoever is our talent evaluator needs to be publicly shamed. Other teams have muscle tone. We have flab. We don't have speed, can't tackle to save our lives, have no desire to make any kind of contact. We can't block, create holes to run through, or anything other offenses do. Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina....all have developed teams that are way better than us. They find talent and develop it. We apparently can't find talent and if we do, we have nothing to go with it. I don't think Saban could save us in 5 years. We are doomed to be bottom feeders for the foreseeable future.

The number of times one of our players have been trucked by the other teams players is telling.  We simply don't have the physicality to compete.

This team just lacks everything you need in a squad.  There is a lack of those elements JFB stressed as fundamental. Brains, Stamina, Speed, Teamwork.  Without them there is no way to compete against talent.  Our players are stupid, make critical mistakes, are careless with the ball and seem to lack basic football sense.  They aren't in shape, they are gassed early, are flabby, and soft.  We are generally slow, both in their legs and their brains. And the teamwork is awful.  These players have no loyalty to their teammates because they are all serial free agents and go from school to school.  They don't play as a team because they don't live as a team.  They just don't seem to love football,

I have seriously kept watching our games solely to see how we will lose this time. We always seem to find new ways to screw up. We can't handle success.

You really think the talent evaluator is that bad? Or is it that we just don't have the bucks to sign better talent?  I really don't know, but I agree the talent/size/athleticism isn't there.

Could be either. I just know that our talent level isn't on par with a LOT of teams, even in smaller conferences.

We don't have enough depth to sit starters for being dumb fucks.  If the back up linebacker can't get Storey off the field, we are fucked.  Same for all of the dbacks.  I hope Bobby gets the job, and finds the Jimmy's and Joe's to get it done. I don't see anyone on our coaching wishlist that would be better.

If we were that lacking in talent, we'd get blown off the field by everybody.

We may not have ENOUGH of it to have quality depth, but we've gone toe to toe with two Top 5-ish teams and another that's been in the 10-15 range.

I don't get the Petrino hate. He didn't suddenly lose his coaching abilities overnight. Taking over a losing program midseason never turns out well. Give him the chance to hire a staff, recruit and coach his players and if he doesn't turn it around then burn him at the stake.

I've said this since 2023, but Sowders has been an unmitigated disaster. 

He started by packing 20+ lbs onto Rocket and killing his acceleration, agility and top-end speed.

KJ got fat under him and lost his running ability. 

Our defenders regularly get trucked, have an extremely difficult time tackling at the point of attack, and it usually takes three of them bring down a ball carrier.

We haven't looked or played physical since 2022.

It may be the least talented in defense since Petrino's first year in 2008 when we were playing walk-ons and freshmen everywhere.

Fair or not, at some point you have to win one and give the fans something more than pregame hope.

Our problem is poor conditioning and depth. It's why we fade late in games, especially the third quarter.

You can't fix conditioning mid season, but that's why I said "fair or not" (and it's not): Bobby has to win one when the deck is stacked against him.

I like Bobby, but today was one of the worst coaching performances I've seen from him.

Blew an 11 point halftime lead to a backup QB. Had to burn a timeout after a kickoff. Pushed ourselves out of FG range with a delay of game on 4th down. Lots of questionable play calls.

Only scoring 3 in the second half despite your defense getting several stops is horrible.

Again, I like Petrino, but his offense has been ass in the 3rd quarter this year, and it's killing us.

Ultimately I don't think he's getting the job. Talent aside, you can't go 0-fer and get the full time gig. At some point you have to win these games.
