Our problem is poor conditioning and depth. It's why we fade late in games, especially the third quarter.

You can't fix conditioning mid season, but that's why I said "fair or not" (and it's not): Bobby has to win one when the deck is stacked against him.

Do we even have 8 DL to rotate? Every SEC I watch they talk about how every team rotates 8 or more; our game, they talk about how Cam Ball plays almost every snap. How does Vandy have a fucking 8 player rotation and we don't?
I need help and I know it.

Not so original take-aways from todays game:

1. Out of 44 two-deep athletes on the team, arguably 8-10 are SEC caliber talent.

2. The defense--while woefully undermanned and under talented--did not quit and (despite Green, et al.  gifting Auburn 4 turnovers) came close to making chicken salad out of chicken shit.

3. Taylen Green is not a winner. He is an immensely talented scrambler with an average arm but absolutely unable to convince an offensive huddle that he will take the game over and lead them to the winning score.

4. It is unfair to use the W/L record of the final 7 games as a metric for retaining Petrino as HC. This is akin to changing race car drivers in the middle of a pit stop with 7 laps to go and demanding the new driver win the race--with two flat tires, a busted suspension, a manifold leak and the leading car two laps in the lead.

5. Arkansas can hire Nick Saban and the ghosts of Knute Rockne, Bear Bryant and Vince Lombardi as HC and they will continue to inhabit the SEC cellar unless some people with unlimited amounts of expendable cash decide to take an interest in the program.

Nuttesque in a way. I blame BLS for the attitude over the whole team, more than I blame BMFP.

why is it hate to expect better than the guy that got fired? petrino knew what he was getting into better than any of us. it isn't hate to expect a few wins.

Bob's been in charge of the team for a total of 4 weeks, doesn't have his players, doesn't have his staff, and tasked with motivating players who had let go of the rope vs ND.

In the 3 games he's coached we were one defensive stop away from big upsets 2 times. Today the offense layed an egg but that's just one game and an anomaly. This offense leads the nation in a several categories.

He loses one winnable game and people are ready to let him go. One game, without his players, or his staff.

Four of our losses are to ranked teams with a combined record of 26-4, by a combined 13 points.

I'm expected to believe they ALL "played down to our level" or we had flukish luck in all those games (at least check we are still Arkansas, aren't we?).

Or those other teams really don't have that much talent either, I guess.

Barton Fink

Maybe we've gotten everything we can out of our talent and they just come up short. Less talented players are more prone to make mistakes. Fumbles and interceptions are due to poor play by your players. I don't care what anyone says.

TC

Bigger than talent, our issue is depth.

Both are problems, but we have absolutely no depth.

Yes. We continue to out SWAC talent on the field we'll continue to be the league doormat. It sure is nice to have Arkansas on your schedule.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

I will agree that we've squeezed it dry, but the vast majority of the mistakes, once again, were made by the guy that most consider one of the top quarterbacks in the country. Our other critical error today was by our best receiver. No one has questioned his talent, that I've heard.

I think we need better player leaders, on both sides of the ball. Green should never be allowed anywhere near the letter C and I couldn't tell you who the others are with that letter.

Who's the one guy gathering the troops and getting everyone on the same page to play hard?

Barton Fink

Agree he's not a leader. Too quiet. I admire a guy like Pavia. He's constantly dishing out communication to his players

This is a good point. I think I heard the announcers say that Auburn rotated 12 different players on the D line.  We could never do that and those fresh bodies make an impact on a less than stellar O-Line killing our running game and making Green revert to his tendency to run away too soon.

Quote from: Feral on Oct 25, 2025, 04:59 PMI like Bobby, but today was one of the worst coaching performances I've seen from him.

Blew an 11 point halftime lead to a backup QB. Had to burn a timeout after a kickoff. Pushed ourselves out of FG range with a delay of game on 4th down. Lots of questionable play calls.

Only scoring 3 in the second half despite your defense getting several stops is horrible.

Again, I like Petrino, but his offense has been ass in the 3rd quarter this year, and it's killing us.

Ultimately I don't think he's getting the job. Talent aside, you can't go 0-fer and get the full time gig. At some point you have to win these games.

After today's goatfuck I'm leaning in this direction.

Coaches. Support staff. Secretaries. Janitors. Ushers. Shuttle bus drivers. The truckers who haul all the shit to away games. You name it. GTFO.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

Mississippi State looks equipped to beat us up and down the field.

It would be wild for us to lose next week too then go to Austin and beat Texass

Most of our losses have been due to horrific offensive production in the second half and turnovers.  Those both start and end with offensive coaching.  Ball security on this team stinks, and that kind of stupidity is on the coach.  Punish the player and the team

Losing to Auburn in my mind cements us going Donuts on the season. We may have some anomaly game where we don't turn it over 4 times and the offense is cooking and the defense also not shitting the bed and the special teams playing the game of their lives and MAYBE win one.
