If this search is anything like the last, "way down the list" is exactly where we will hire from.

Probably way farther down.

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Let's assume for arguments sake he's a good hire.

We're behind LSU, Florida, Penn State, and probably Auburn in the pecking order. It's a shitty year to be negotiating for a head coach.

Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

Barry Lunney it is

Also I just want to give credit where it's due because the Razorbacks have discovered new and interesting ways of losing games this year. That is literally the only reason I watch them play at all anymore. It's not a question of if they win it's a question of how are they going to fuck it up and they never disappoint. We've had some ref fuckins that would make Mia Khalifa blush and yesterday took the prize. 100 percent precipitated by Petrino's fit over a shitty call in the endzone which he had every justification for because the refs were clearly crooked as all get out. We continually get treated like the red headed step child...hell Kennesaw State would get better SEC treatment. I've never been a big "We gotta move to the Big 12" kind of guy and I get financially it makes no sense to do so but I'd be letting the SEC commissioner know we're taking phone calls clearly we're never getting a fair shake in this league and playing Oklahoma Lite, Arizona State, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Ku, K-State etc isn't so bad. It would be a lot of egg on the face of the SEC.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

I mean it's a small state and obviously I'm around a lot of people that are glued in. Petrino was never near the top of the list and it's bizarre how many here assumed he was.

Four of the last thirteen years laid a donut in SEC play.

We need to keep Petrino. We cannot do better. In fact, somebody will probably poach him away from us. Maybe he feels like he has something to prove here. I hope so.

No one is poaching him away from us. Good lord. Any of the other schools with openings their fans would riot if they hired him.

FNG

I do not know if BMFP v.2026 could be our Moses if given the chance; but I do know he has not been given a fair chance this year to prove it. He was thrown in a 2000 gallon vat of chicken shit and told, "I need 2000 gallons of chicken salad by season's end. You have seven weeks."

Let's look at metrics, tangible and otherwise:

Record-- 0-4  Definitely a tangible F; however 2 of those losses were to Top 15 teams by a total of 6 points. The other two losses were to arguably inferior teams and one of those losses may have involved true tampering by the officials. Auburn was a poorly played loss.

Offense-- despite injuries to multiple key players (and TG's inexplicable Jekyll/Hyde performances) the offense is still managing a nicely balanced 209 yd rushing/276 yds passing per game.

Defense--  while still abysmal statistically, intangibly the defense has shown much more energy and attention to detail despite, once again, injuries to key personnel.

Special Teams-- are not...special, but have not seemed to regress.

Culture-- Petrino's "process" needs at least a year to bear fruit but there does appear to have been a noticeable improvement in team morale and sideline/on field energy. (If this continues over the next 4 weeks Petrino should be hailed as a miracle worker.)

Personally, I believe Petrino could bring the program back to respectability given another Spring and Fall camp-particularly if he is given the funds to hire staff and players.

Lurk

I don't know if it was audible or not on TV, bit at one point there was a very audible stadium wide "refs, you suck" chant, followed up by the public address music playing "Your Cheating Heart". I've never seen or heard of anything like it. The whole 4th quarter was nothing but booing.

The chant was so audible ESPN couldn't get it filtered out

Probably way farther down.

Unfortunately this is the most likely outcome if our last two hires are any indication.

I don't know if Bobby is the answer, but...

The thought of just one billionaire booster taking pity on us, and a 2026 BMFP revenge tour would be a pretty great experience.

Just go full heel and wreck shit.

It's why Yurachek has to go.

He fucked this up so badly, from the contract to not firing Sam previously.

We had the opportunity to fire Pittman after 2023 when we'd gone off the rails 2 seasons in a row and hemorrhaged players to the portal. We should have fired him after the Missouri loss last year, when no other jobs were open. Instead we unnecessarily rolled the dice one more year and once again our program is bottoming out.

As always (especially in the Yurachek era), we're purely reactionary and never proactive or strategic, and now half the damn country is hiring a football coach.

Yurachek is the epitome of being a day late and a dollar short.
