So this guy is 45.  I'm chalking this "all in" thing to him having been college aged when the Texas Hold'em craze was at full force.

Quote from: flash23 on Dec 04, 2025, 03:54 PMI don't really get a Chaggie vibe form this guy. I don't know if he can have better results, but he at least seems genuine. Nothing Chad did seemed like it was anything other than to boost his own brand, from his stunt double jumping from the rafters to his "sit up and spit your gum out" tough guy thing he did.

Silverfield seems legitimately excited to be here. Or legitimately excited to make almost 7 million a year.

Chad was just using us to get the A&M job. He would have jumped ship the moment it came open.

Instead, he was exposed as a fraud and a baffoon and never got a sniff.

I wonder if Mars knows about the infamous tits post. If not, someone should fill him in.

I've mentioned it a couple times in replies to him
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Hopefully he can be a non-retarded, non-dooshy Nutt. A high energy rah rah guy that the players will play hard for, but let his coaches coach and not make everything about him. I'll be interested in what his coaching staff looks like.

imagine spending that much time making yourself look like a fool.

This may be an HTL question.

Back in his tit posting days, didn't someone say he owned/worked for the company that printed the Oaklawn programs?  That would make him somehow related to former Oaklawn GM Eric Jackson.

Kinda weird that they had CRS sitting down for his introductory press conference.  Do we not own a podium?
Things of that nature

I guess what I saw was the media event for questions after the introduction.  Here's the official intro for anyone who hasn't seen it:

(complete w/ cringe DJ, forced hog call and pyrotechnics!)

This is the new look of the Arkansas razorback football program.

I listened to about 80% of that presser and so I will offer my reactions.

RS: seems fairly genuine. Lots of coach speak but of course that's the kind of shit they are going to say. It sounds to me that they are going to eventually focus on bringing in "high school guys" and "developing them"....this is a strategy that has been working for him at Memphis he says and it will continue at Arkansas. Trey Biddy then subtly asked a question by framing that he lost a lot of guys at Memphis to the portal a year ago and he added a lot of guys etc. I believe the question asked was "How do you keep guys in the program and actually develop them" and RS didn't really answer the question instead opting to answer the question he wish was asked of him. This whole thing with keying in on high school guys is neat and all...likely gets us high end recruiting rankings in the future if we are indeed bringing in a lot of solid 4/5 star guys and other programs are taking in grown mens. To me that's just another way of saying we're going after lesser expensive players to fill roster spots. It's a failed strategy that other programs are doing and it's not looking good but if HY could fuck it up he will. That entire sequence could also be coach speak for getting bodies in the program right now even though they also said they don't anticipate having a big high school class this season so who fucking knows.

There's a focus on his end for high character players and coaches and of course my immediate thought isn't that what they always say? Yes. He does tend to make me believe it though. HeresYourCheck also really dialed in on using that word "high character" many times in the press conference and after a while it sounded more like a referendum on the perceived alternative (Petrino). He said something like "It was important to me to find someone of high character that's on the same page as me moving forward". He followed that up later on saying something about watching a lot of coaches during the process and watching their demeanor on the sidelines...another jab at Petrino's fiery outbursts. Reading between the lines it's like saying those outbursts came out of nowhere and damaged the credibility of the program. So yes RS...this is what you are going to get. You are getting a boss that won't fight for you...he's going to brown nose with his betters at the home office while you are packing your bags.

Sounds like KJ Jackson is locked in on staying which is good. I'd like to keep our QBs we have already and develop them. I don't think there's a huge need to bring in a experienced starter. If the other kid leaves then sure try and bring in someone that can compete for the starting role.

Anyway that's all I got for now.

Yurachek is a retarded faggot though. Bobby probably told him that at some point.

Who was the last high character "good guy" coach to have real success in college football?
I can't even think of one.

Some are "nicer" than others, but the real successful ones have all had an element of fiery a-hole in their personalities. That's probably necessary to get a bunch of now highly paid 18-22 year olds to listen and play well.

High character.  Christian guy (seems genuine with that).  Everyone has their asshole moments.

I'm judging the body of work..not how he's behaving in the worst year of his career.
