One team making a "guarantee" just seems silly to risk getting passed over if someone else slips and they end up going with that guy over you. Much better to take the guaranteed NIL loot (I assume better than 2nd round money) and then be in a better position next season (potentially). Richmond could easily become another TB that ends up figuring out he can make some real money just staying in college for four or five years (however many they get now), then mature into a very draft-able player that's ready to play minutes in the NBA.
