They must have the dumbest executives ever.

Some things (lots of American food)aren't allowed to be sold in the EU because of chemical content.
Pringles
Mountain Dew
Lots of our cereals...you'd be surprised.

I went to Europe for a trip the summer after highschool and I remember buying some contraband Mountain Dew.

18 year old me thought that was hysterical.

Quote from: BleedinRed on Jun 19, 2026, 06:30 PMFlopping and offsides.  Both are stupid.

You probably know this already, but without offside, soccer would be a totally different game.  Offside rewards footwork, speed, skill, passing, positioning, tactics, field management, and discipline on attack and defense.  Without offside, you could do away with the whole field, because it would just be "park 5 tall guys in front of the other goal and boot it into the chaos".

BASS

I don't mind the offsides, I don't fully understand what all is offsides and what is not, but I don't watch enough. However what OQ says makes a lot of sense.

Why do they need a water break in an air conditioned dome?

When I was in shape I used to run 45+ minutes, no stopping, no water. There are some of the finest athletes in the world.

These guys that play the full game probably run about 4 miles a match.

Is offsides always the trailing leg of the deepest defender?

I googled muthafucka and it is the aforementioned criterion plus the player who is offsides becoming an active player in the play, i. e. receiving a pass, engaging a defender, blocking the goalie's view, etc.

They are doing water breaks for all the games to make it fair for all teams, no matter where they're playing. It's more about the commercials and the tactical changes the coaches can make than the hydration. It wouldn't be fair for teams playing indoors not to have that, but teams playing outside to.
I need help and I know it.

According to Gemini, Freddy made it to Toronto this morning to watch Germany play.

I would like to see them adjust the offsides rule so that the offensive player must be completely past the defender rather than, say, his nose or his pinky being past the defender.  That's chickenshit.

I don't know the finer details of the game.  What I do know is if a really fast guy out runs another fast guy he should be entitled to receive a pass from anywhere on the field.  This having to wait to outrun my guy until my team kicks the ball down the field is bullshit.

I played in a hoops league in Dallas that you had to dribble past half court (couldn't pass it over) until the last two mins of the game. It was infuriating.

We do that if we are running full court 4v4 and definetly 3v3.

I would have gone on strike if that was a rule for 5v5.

Were you playing church league?  Definitely sounds like church league.  Or old man league.

DRYANKNPULL

I'm loving all of this World Cup stuff. Not the actual games because I'm not going to watch any of them, but the rest of it is fantastic.

Sometimes a fella doesn't have the stamina to run all the way down the court and play defense.   ;D

Maybe they need refs stationed every so often down the field so they can all make it to the end of the game.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing
