Quote from: The Whyte Boar on Sep 25, 2026, 11:31 AMI don't know, I could if the statements about RS not being able to use money he had raised in December on NIL because we had already budgeted NIL this year are true.

Not that Sam and Petrino couldn't visit recruits at all but that maybe HY made them rigidly adhere to a budget and once it was used wouldn't allow any adjustments so that maybe there were some recruits we got in on late or who needed some additional visits who went unvisited because HY wouldn't turn loose of the company card.

Could the foundation not help? They have a plane.

The fact they didn't or couldn't call a booster to help is puzzling

What spin will Hunter's on3 tour be today?

When the "if you fire him it could get worse" argument is the play then "golden handcuffs" are coming back!

I wonder why Hunter hasn't gone on chuck and bo?

The wnba needs a new commissioner!!!

Some of you will get this from Heart Break Ridge (Clint Eastwood in the 80s)...there's a segment where the commander is telling Clint to fill out the his request and send it thru the proper chain of command. Clint says something like I shouldn't have to be filling out fucking reports for things we should already have.

Anyway that's circling in my mind as I thinking about HY's "budget" but also I'll come to his defense somewhat that likely there's someone above  him that's forcing his hand and that's the real reason he's not be fired. Someone above him needs to see the inside of a dumpster.

I think there is a picture of HY that is forming if you want to see it.  He is one of these rigid guys who is incapable or unwilling to deviate from a plan.

Remember when we didn't hire Kiffin because he came back at the last minute for another $500k after Hunter felt like there was a deal?  Relative chicken feed when compared against the contract and what was at stake for the program.  But HY let him walk over it.  Briles left over a similar deal. Remember his big spiel about incentive laden contracts?  And why is it every coach not named John Calipari seems to eventually get frustrated with him and hire Sexton?

I think he is one of these penny pinching eggheads who is completely inflexible in a conference full of seat of your pants cowboys willing to max out the credit card on a moment's notice.

According to Fayvillians, Hunter was diverting funds from football to basketball. Maybe should have known something was up when they hired a former NBA scout as a GM covering all sports. Hmm.
He diverted funds to men's basketball AND women's basketball.

The player revenue share for women's basketball for this year is $1M...it was $100K last year.
Baseball revenue share went down from $1.1M to $700K.

Just dumb. Why give that much to women's basketball, a NON REVENUE sport.

Quote from: DirkPiggler on Sep 24, 2026, 09:41 PMI'm not sure I buy that, given that last year Cal allegedly told some prospective donors that he had enough, so they should give it to other sports.

It's true.

nobody gives af about women's basketball why are they getting that sorta money?

Also where do all the funds go that the university raises off gear alone? They're profiting off jerseys for hockey

This has to be the final nail in the coffin right? Our football program is being mocked and laughed at on College Gameday.

If we lose today, I think he's fired tomorrow.

Otherwise, sometime before Xmas

Should have been fired long ago. 9 years here, so many mistakes and inadequacies we've repeated the talking points over and over. Our football program ranks lowly if not last in the conference in many measureables year after year, both on and off the field, with little or no movement. Simply (and objectively) put, Arkansas does not belong there. It's not hard to find another AD, it doesn't have to be HY or no one. This is not a small program and no one's getting screwed over or an unfair shake except the fans.

But regardless at this point, there's so much negative press and toxicity, I don't see how he survives too much longer.

Given the opportunity to make the wrong decision... University is going to give us a "be careful what you wish for" replacement AD.
