Quote from: vegashog on Oct 04, 2026, 08:41 AMit's talent also. name one guy on offense other than marshall that would be playing on another sec team? do the same on defense. we hyped the shit out of some returners but they haven't done squat just like the previous years. to be promised some fantastic figure for nil while being approached for the job, only to be told "well, that's actually for next season", after you've taken it, is some serious bullshit. heads need to roll but this coach is getting at least another year.

he needs to fire the oc tomorrow, the guy's out of his league.

Well, of course, we're not talented but we are clearly poorly coached as well.  We're not a plucky untalented but well coached team fighting our guts out.  We're a bunch of fucking losers, coached by losers, and administered by losers.

If we don't show that we are going to give the coach a chance to compete, you're going to continue to hire bad coaches. We will continue to field port talented teams with bad coaching.

Any coach with common sense isn't going to touch this program right now. This is exactly what I was trying to aay last year would happen.

We cannot have Silverfield here for 2 or 3 years. He's gotta go now. Hire a PI and figure out a reason for cause.

Yes, no ...maybe.  Fire HY and then make a dramatic announcement regarding money, competitiveness, and so on and so forth.

Yeah, it's gonna take deep pockets.  And that means someone is going to have to kiss some serious ass and make some promises snd commitments they didn't want to make.  I honestly don't know if we can make it happen.   But we possibly could.  They are going to have to find someone who cares and put them in charge and then support them. It's a tall order.  But here we are.

This is beyond a change at AD or a coach.  This requires a complete rethinking of everything.

I.E...if Wal-Mart wants a new chancellor as the price for supporting football, give them one and rename the university.

Silverfield I'm not convinced is THE issue. I think like we've seen in the past he didn't fully understand what he was walking into. He brought a cheap Chinese pocket knife to a rocket fight and we're all like...win bitch.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Hell, make the crowd stand every 30 minutes and scream "I Love Walmart!"

If we want to be an academic institution, fine, we are what we are. Stop dumping more and more money into football facilities, announce that we just want an occasional bowl game, and route athletic funds to baseball and basketball so we can maybe get some trophies.

If we want to be a football school then replace the entire BOT. And then start the rebuild.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Maybe, but he's shown no fight or emotions fielding a team that's getting their ass handed to him every week. I've seen very little change in what we were doing week 1. I wasn't impressed with the hire. Nothing has changed that.

The Whyte Boar

Silverfield is what you get when you let a moron make the hire on the cheap.

I don't know that we can either.

I mean it is entirely possible everyone just says "no" and we are stuck. Of course, other schools in the SEC don't really seem to worry about having the money before making commitments.  They just do it and go in the hole.

Silverfield was a Christmas Eve snatch the last toy left on the shelves hire and is obviously in over his head but the rot of this football program goes much higher up the chain.

For the life of me, I cannot reconcile the blatant lack of interest regarding Razorback football by a BOT that is Chaired and Vice Chaired by former Razorback football players. There will obviously be no pressure applied by a Governor whose loyalties to OBU go back two generations but...still.
If the Chancellor, BOT and AD don't value the football program enough to fund/support a consistently competitive SEC team then man up, admit it, and shut the program down.

Arkansans have endured ridicule from the rest of the nation going back to (and before) achieving statehood in 1836. Most notable sons and daughters of the Natural State flee its borders as soon as possible and do their best to dissociate themselves from its reputation for backwardness. This helps explain the maniacal allegiance we fans pledge to the sports programs of the state's flagship university in good times and bad but particularly in those rare times when our teams elicit a sense of pride.

Arkansas fans do not deserve the national laughingstock that our football program has become.

this.

and isn't the rumor is that the waltons wanted a different choice for chancellor but kinda got okie doked and have pretty much sat on their money ever since? might be bullshit but it's on the internet.

Its telling their starting their own stem university

You take the Walton's money, you hand over full control obviously. But clearly the football program has been a hard failure for yearsss and it's baffling the average fans can see what was going to happen, but "the powers that be", couldn't.

I blame silverfield in that he should have had enough introspection to know that he didn't have the chops for this job. I don't blame the man for taking his bag, but he had to know he wasn't cut out for this. Idk. Maybe he didn't and is finding out the hard way. Either way. We're still years away from anything remotely mediocre and there is no light at the end of this proverbial tunnel.
