Well put.  Running on 3rd and long, more than once, and then not even trying to make the last possession a two-down territory for a conversion - it's like we're coaching to avoid being in high-pressure positions.  You can't turn the thing around by always taking the safe route.

There's no way he gets that kind of effort from the team the rest of the year. I'm still shocked at the coaching decisions on our last 2 drives. You don't come back from those kind of calls.

It sucks we lost but we looked like a competent football team for the first time so that is improvement. Build on that. We covered the spread. Build on that.

Any chance of building on the performance got flushed down the toilet by quitting on the team at the end. 


I guarantee we get run off the field by an otherwise very beatable Vanderbilt next week.  Just like when Chad 1.0 pussed out to lose against Colorado State...the team laid down on him against North Texas, and the Hogs will lay down next Saturday.

The parallels to Chad Morris are too hard to ignore. 

Remember the Colorado State game in his first year when he punted from the 50 to start the 4th qtr up 7 and we ended up losing?

Same type of vibe.  Everyone knew right then he wasn't the guy.  The fans knew and the team knew.

I get the same feeling from this.

Had the same thought, he lost a lot of fan support with that decision.

A 7 point lead with this team, no matter how well they seem to be playing, will never be enough. Our excuse for a coach goes conservative and shits himself. Stupid play calls. Stupid mistakes. He looks like he is just trying to get through this year with no intent to try and win.
