Just remember...if you are doing an EGD and a colonoscopy at the same time to avoid two separate times under anesthesia, make sure they use two different camera tubes.  Or at least that they do the EGD first.

It depends on how regular you are/have been before the prep. Some folks can get "there" with half the prep, some folks need the whole thing. Basically...you need to chug til you're shitting stuff that looks a lot like piss just came out of your butthole. They lean on the safe side to make sure they can see what they want to see without obstruction. If you tell the average joe they can gauge how much they need to drink, they are going to fuck it up and have to go back and do the prep all over again.

I also don't know why they restricted your diet 2 days before. I have never heard of anybody having to do that. Also, recent studies have shown that you can eat the actual day before while you are doing your prep as long as you stick to low-residue, low-color foods. Think chicken, lunch meat, eggs, white bread, rice, mac & cheese, ice cream (vanilla). Basically...anything without fiber or that is dark in color as those foods/drinks can obstruct their view and/or appear as blood in the procedure.

The people that conducted this bland food/liquid diet vs the typical clear liquids only diet later showed the videos of the procedures to other keister docs who didn't know which diet the patient had prepped with. Findings were that the low-residue diet had cleaner colons than the clear liquid only diet.

they told me to go all liquid the day before and my check jn was 8am today. My last meal was Saturday evening but I ate jello, broth ect yesterday. I saw where I could have eggs ect that morning but I was trying to clean it out so I didn't have to drink all that shit. I took half and it did the job. Glad I didn't eat much cause it didn't take much to clean me out. I did see the study you mention that eating the day before doesn't do much. I also ate a Mexican pizza and a taco Friday when they said to eat bland food so
