Some of this article is political nonsense, but a lot of it is true. Reddit's owners are human garbage who are too stupid to see how much they're de-valuing their own platform. But I agree that it will be increasingly hard to have worldwide forums for user-created content without monetization and thus heavy moderation.

"Federated" platforms like Lemmy and Mastodon are a mess. We may see a big return to sites like woopig.
