I really don't like how Nutt has been welcomed back into the fold in recent years. Yurachek really needs to cut that shit out.

They did the Hogs+ thing with him and McFadden, he's been been inducted into the UA Sports Hall Of Honor this year, and now this thing about '98 in which Nutt is sure to be the main character and protagonist. 

I get that we're still pulling ourselves out of the rubble that was Jeff Long's tenure, and that the Chad era sucked ass bigly, but the UA really needs to stop papering over the bad shit from Nutt's reign and outright ignoring the embarrassing drama bullshit from his last few years.

Yurachek should put a finger on the pulse of the fan base and he'd realize he needs to stop bringing this dipshit back into the mix and giving him a platform.

This Saturday when they announce that shitstain as a Hall of Honor inductee....

Last night, Kenny Hamlin was at the 906 Cigar Lounge in downtown Fort Smith promoting his "The Arrival" cigars.  My wife and I were chatting with him.  Last time he was down there, he brought Quinn Grovey with him.  Quinn wasn't there last night and I asked Kenny why.  He said Quinn was at the premiere of The Resurgence.  I'm like, oh yeah!  That thing.  I didn't say anything negative about Houston Nutt but let Kenny talk about him.  Later, Quinton Caver and Brandon Holmes joined us.  And man, they were all talking about Nutt.  And to a man, they all completely love his ass.  Loved him then, love him now.  I was a bit sick to my stomach.

I worked with a guy that was there during the Nutt years. He didn't play much, and knew I didn't like Nutt. He said he knew that he wasted the talent, but he loved him.

Peyton Hillis was stuffed on the goalline 4 straight times up the gut against Vandy in 2005 with McFadden standing on the sidelines. 
We ended up losing 28-24 to Vandy at home.
McFadden got 1 carry for 6 yards that day.  Felix Jones got 1 carry that day.
Nutt said post-game that he just didn't trust the freshmen RB's to carry a big load

(A week later on the road AT USC, they combined for 25 carries and 154 yards in that 70-17 beatdown USC put on us.)

I was done with Nutt that day against Vandy.

There's a difference between a grifter and a con artist. The grifter has to squeeze as much money out of his scam as quickly as he can before high-tailing it out of town just as people start to get wise. The con artist takes his time, leaves when he wants, and gets invited back.

Nutt might not have been able to completely master the second part of being a con artist, but he damn sure got the other two down. He could teach a master class in getting all you can out of a job without actually having any substantive talent to back it up.

I talked to Fred Talley about Nutt giving Cobbs carries over him and he had no problem trashing Houston. This was probably 12 years ago.

I worked with a guy that was there during the Nutt years. He didn't play much, and knew I didn't like Nutt. He said he knew that he wasted the talent, but he loved him.

I was at UA during the Nutt era and knew a couple of guys both directly and indirectly on the team.

The consensus was that if you were a star (or even starter) you loved the guy, largely because he babied them. But if you weren't in that category the feeling about him ran the gamut from ambivalence to loathing.

One of my friends had a buddy who was a scholarship player who hardly played and quit due to injury. Guy had been recruited and then on scholarship for 2-3 years. When he went to Nutt's office to tell him he was leaving football due to injury, Nutt literally didn't know who he was.
