Our secondary was such an unmitigated disaster last year that surely no one deserves any conference wide recognition.

I know Clark took a lot of criticism last year and Pitman took up for him on several occasions, which is important. Maybe he has an all-sec season. I know we don't get to see what goes on day to day.  Coaches do and I know they have a lot of things to evaluate on a player such as:

1. Work ethic
2. Leadership
3. Mental toughness
4. Good at your position

We need a defensive secondary that is vastly improved at #4.

Clark wasn't good as a CB (too slow), but once they moved him to safety he was not at all a liability. 

As for the other walk-on safety we had, most of the time we would have been better off playing 10 on 11.
