I was told on Twitter that we aren't going to be very good this year after losing two elite coordinators and that Briles is a top 5 OC. I guffawed.

We have a bunch of Madden obsessed chuckleheads in our fan base who look at yardage stats as if they mean anything and have no sense for nuance.

We were the epitome of a 20/20 offense in which we'd rack up yards between the 20s but fall to pieces inside them, as evidenced by the fact that we were 15th in total yards but 35th in scoring.

Just look at Ole Miss last year when they came to Fayetteville to see what's wrong with this offensive philosophy — they had TWO 200 yard rushers and still got boatraced. Why? Because they couldn't do shit in the red zone.

Also, Briles' refusal (or inability) to game plan irritated the shit out of me. There's an adage in war that no plan survives first contact with the enemy, but you have to have A plan instead of this "let's just feel 'em out" bullshit where you waste the first few drives. Petrino used the script the first 10-15 plays, opposing defense be damned. Didn't matter what the defense did, they were running that script and then they'd pivot as/how needed.

I actually feel better going into this season with a new coordinator than I would have if we'd have run it back with Briles. His dumb bullshit got KJ hurt last year, and I feel like Enos will actually be better for his general development. For all the good things he does, KJ has some moments where he does some incredibly dumb things, and that's coaching.

I'm excited about the prospects of KJ working with Enos. But will KJ have anybody to throw it to? That's my main concern. They sound high on Sategna, but he's unproven. Do we have any proven receivers coming back? I'm drawing a blank.

there's experience at the position. how quickly kj can get comfortable with these guys is the question.

We will probably highlight the TE a bit more as well. The Washington kid has shown a lot of promise. With him, the all-conference  transfer from N. Texas, and the touted freshman (Hasz), it should should, if nothing else, give us good looks there and help spread the defenses so that the WR's like Sategna can take the top off. However, Hasz might not see much of the field if they can't put enough weight on him this fall.

As a Razorback fan, I spend way to much of my time frustrated and disappointed. It's July. I'm gonna be optimistic for the next 6 weeks. It may be my only chance.
