Scheduling road games at Memphis and at Tulsa (it's coming in I believe 2027) is a fireable offense.  It's another case of having an athletic director who cares more about what outsiders think of him than how well his programs perform.

One thing that irks me about our football program is our scheduling. We need to schedule 4 winnable non conference games until we prove we can win 3 or more SEC games consistently.

Don't play ND, Michigan, etc. Don't play at OSU and Memphis in back to back years. Win 4 ginnes and shoot for 2 SEC wins to at least get to 6 and a bowl game. If we progress, schedule up, but our schedule lately hasn't helped.

I believe P4 teams should play only P4 teams.  I hate rentawins.  I would be fine with an SEC only schedule myself in a 15 game schedule the money would be yuge.

That hasn't been the case since...ever. 

Power programs have always played several cupcakes.   Hell before the 1992 expansion the SEC only played six conference games with no mandatory round robin.  This concept that P4 programs shouldn't play rent-a-wins is a psyop from the Mouse and his networks who profit from having better TV matchups.  And from the yankee cocksmoking B1G programs who look for any way to denigrate the toothless southern hick programs that have owned their corn fed fat asses since integration.

Cupcakes have always been used to develop depth early in every teams schedule. Play everyone in blowouts and see who shows up. At least that's the theory. We play them close enough to never get our backups in. An added benefit of playing cupcakes is to crush any early season optimism I've had over the last several years.
