Bottom line if Caitlin is a black chick she doesn't sniff that huge of a contract and nobody gives a f*** about her regardless of her talent. No doubt if Lisa Leslie or Cheryl swoops were to come out today they would be huge stars making good money great money.

This caitlin chick is essentially a great white hype she's entertaining to watch yes she is all we hope for heterosexual represents herself to the highest degree of class the whole package but none of that would matter if she wasn't White.

I'm not so sure about that. Shes the all time scoring leader and led an NCAA team to 91 points per game. That's not terrible basketball to watch, unlike the old days. It makes sense that eyeballs are going to following her transition into her rookie season..which has nothing to do with skin color.

She hits the 3 ball so hard they put her in a fun little charity 1v1 against Curry. She also drains logo shots, which besides the dunk or ally-oop, is what the avg fan is most entertained by. She rolls off picks better than many of the guys, and her fundamentals are solid. And even with all the hate coming at her lately she just seems to handle it like a complete pro.

Her "color" has nothing to do with my fandom. I think she's a great ball player with a really good head on her shoulders.

What I do see however is an animosity towards her because of the eyeballs she's bringing in, and the attention she's getting. I think most of us think similar to I described above..good ball player, all time NCAA scoring leader, and good ambassador for young ladies.

What I think the haters see is her color, and the color of the eyeballs shes bringing to the league. They resent the fact that it's a white girl bringing in the white fans. That's where the real racism lies.

It's a really weird thing to watch, almost like many of the players are mad because "a straight white girl is tryna come into our black lesbian league and take over," sort of thing. Talk about self-sabotage.

There is no doubt her color plays some role but the main thing about her is that she does things we've never seen a woman do with a basketball.  I've never seen a woman shoot from so deep.  I've never seen a woman with that quick of a release.  I've never seen a woman pass like that.  She shoots like a female Steph Curry and passes like a female Luka Doncic.

It's going to be hard for Gafford to get going in this series if he's forced to guard Horford or Porzingis on the perimeter all night. If Porzingis plays like he did last night it could be a short series. I expect the Mavs to bounce back in game 2 and at least make it  competitive.

ESPN has had this fascination for the last 15 years or so of finding these young stars and giving them the "Tebow treatment"...in this case it happened to be a white female that could make it rain. She's certainly very talented and entertaining and I don't blame her one damn bit for getting paid. On the other hand yes I can see where she might not have been nearly the story if she were a non-white. You guys don't have to agree with me. You can tell yourselves that you would still be interested. I'm good with that. When you say you've never seen someone shoot like this...that's probably true in part because you've literally never seen a WNBA game. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about these ladies. I do know there has been many great players like Tamika Catchings who incidentally had a better stat line as a rookie for the Fever than Clark but Catching probably wasn't getting cheap shots.

Not really sure what Bronny James had.  He certainly didn't have anomalous coronary arteries like your son or Pistol Pete.  They have been pretty hush hush about what he did have.  I suspect it is an accessory electrical pathway that can be ablated through a catheter ablation.  The recovery time on that is a week.  Surgery like your son's is a few weeks recovery time as would be surgery on a valve. 
I do exercise and sports cardiology.  (The only clinic in the state that has a couple of us that specialize in that btw). The latest buzz word in our field is "Shared Decision Making".  We lay out the risk of your condition and work with you to try and get you back to your sport if that is your desire and it is at all possible.  In the past, that decision was almost uniformly, "you need to stop playing".  Today, it is about 85%, "you can go back to playing but here is the risk". 
I'm headed back to a big sports cardiology meeting in June and to quote Matt Martinez one of the usual speakers (and one of Bronny's doctors) is playing optional or oxygen?  Is it just something you do or something you can't live without?  For a bunch of these young athletes, they are in their minds, nothing if they can't play.  It is who they are.  Taking that away from them, is almost a death sentence for them becoming depressed and perhaps changing their life in a terrible way.  That has become increasingly just as important. 
I suspect over drinks, I'll find out pretty much what happened to Bronny (unofficially of course).  Both of his docs Michael Ackerman and Martinez are at this fairly small meeting.  Lots of socializing, wine, and dinners after the meeting is over each evening.
