Not hardly. Laughing at those comparing him to Thabeet. Thabeet didn't want to work, that was his downfall. He had no desire to be a basketball player. Edey has improved every season at Purdue, and that's in part to his great work ethic. I'm guessing you didn't pay any attention to the draft combine? He has improved greatly with his footwork and skill level, besides being just "large."

He'll have JJJ and Brandon Clarke as the bigs that can defend the perimeter against guys like Jokic, Sabonis and Wemby. He'll do just fine guarding guys like Gobert. Edey's main job will be to set screens, gobble up rebounds, and hammer down lobs from Ja.

I agree with him being a hard worker and improving his game.  It's going to be a difficult situation on pick and roll in the playoffs when he has to try and cover a shooter just like it was for Steven Adams (or any other big man).  Hopefully he is more Lew Alcindor and less LaRue Martin.  The pick and roll last season was non existent without Adams, Tillman and Clarke. 

The chip on his shoulder could serve him well in the NBA.  He seems pissed off a lot of the time which fits right in for our team.  He obviously doesn't like playing with firearms so that is a plus.  Ja and the rest of the guys staying healthy for us this year is paramount to our success.   I hope Edey is the rookie of the year.  We shall see.

So Team USA replaced Kawhi today because, surprise...health concerns    with Derrick White. Derrick White!

I don't get that at all. Another forward would have made sense. This puts the roster having 6 guards. I wonder if Tatum played a role in keeping the replacement from being Jaylen Brown.

PSA: Team USA has an exhibition game w/ Team Canada tonight at 9:30 on FS1. Should be their biggest challenge in the actual Olympics. KD is out for tonight's game.
