Shohei's current streaks - 15 hit streak, 22 on base streak, 7 extra base hit streak.

Meanwhile, Ronald freaking Acuna Jr., who plays for a legit team, is the first player in MLB history with 15 HR and 30 SB in the first 70 games of the season.

Another sign the All-Star game voting is a farce. Austin Hays is ranked 15th among AL outfielders.

He should be a little higher. He ranks 8th in WAR among AL OF's.

Ohtani is simply incredible.  Remarkably versatile and talented athlete. I am surprised the Yankees haven't bought him off.  Can you imagine him and Judge on the same team?
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

You have to wonder much longer he can keep it up at such a high level on both sides of the plate. I was listening to an interview with some of his old teammates and coaches back in Japan and one of the coaches thought he might be bulking up too much to maintain his hitting power. Could limit his range of motion and potentially lead to a higher risk of injury on the mound.

BASS

There was a situation that developed last night and came to fruition because no one talked about it.

Germain pitched a perfect game for the Yankees on the road against the worst team in baseball last night.

First perfect game since Felix Hernandez in 2012 with the Mariners.

Imagine his heartbreak if we had started talking about it after 8 2/3 innings.

Wish I'd known it was happening. Damn Yankee.

The A's have one guy batting over .250. It really shouldn't count.

Snorts

Eg, things ARE better this year with the rules changed to speed the game up and add action.  It is fun to watch base stealers again.

#1, the Braves are offensing bigly right now.  Just set the NL record for home runs in a month, with 61.  She agrees with me, apparently.

#2, who would have thought an 82 mph pitch down the middle was a bad idea against Shohei.  He only sent it 493 feet.

Uh, did he say 30th home run? Dudes got 30 HR at the break? A pitcher hitting 493 ft bombs. Amazazing.
I can't so much as drink a damn glass of water around a midget or a piece of antique furniture.

He said 30.  It's unreal that the dude could choose to either pitch or hit and be in the GOAT running, and instead he's just going for both.

I think I'm wet for Andrew McCutchen right now.  For real though, this is awesome.

Here we are, just past the half-way point in the season, just before the All Star Break, and the two best teams in their leagues are squaring off for a three game series.

The Braves and The Rays go at it starting tonight.  The Braves are playing really, really well, setting the NL record for HR in a month last month.  I think they are 9-1 for their last 10.  The Rays, meanwhile, have lost 5 in a row and are coming off a day off hoping to regain momentum.

Should be fun.  Both teams hit and pitch well, and the Braves steal bases.
