Unless it's changed in the last few months, the scholarships at P5 programs are four-year deals for high school signees.  They used to be year-to-year, and still are at smaller schools.

Agreed.  The free agency is what will kill it, not the money.  Players have been getting paid to some degree for years. 

Universities are committed to initial signees out of high school for four years if the player chooses to stay there.  The player should have some sort of contract to uphold as well.

This. The kids deserve a piece of the $60 million from the tv deal.
It seems the schools do NOT want to share that and instead have the fans/boosters pay the collective to pay the kids in addition to what fans/booster pay now.
Are head coaches making 4 mill plus giving to the collective and putting their money where their mouth is?

I have two kids at the UofA, but I need to help pay the QB's scholarship (foundation donation) AND the collective to give the kid $500,000 (min) so he will go to school here and if I pay the foundation enough I can buy tickets to watch him play.

But if if my kids need some walk around money or a tutor or shoes or a meal (which athletes get from the athletic dept) they can get jobs right? We have lost our minds.

Fix the seats at bwa, put in cup holders, fix the audio, drop the in game hosts, and put the money into the team if you must instead of a renovation. If the team sucks no one is going to go anyway but RickB

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it still prohibited for "student athletes" to be paid directly by schools or athletic revenue? The Supreme Court said schools can't stop them from NIL, which is why that loophole opened and private money poured in, but I think official school payments are still NCAA prohibited. As long as there is an NCAA.

Ironic that NCAA has nothing to do with Football oversight which is the sport that drives the money and started when the CFA broke off from the NCAA.

The conferences have all the power now but they want nothing to do with rule enforcement which is ultimately what the problem is - who sets the rules and then who will enforce them? We see schools break the rules all the time now so I don't know why if congress does make a national NIL rule anyone think then the issue is solved. Schools will still break the rules and who enforces it then if it's a federal law? I remember Long in a full staff meeting telling coaches if they didn't commit at least 12 rules violations (minor ones but still a violation is a violation) then we weren't trying hard enough.

Football is the issue and the playing field has never been level nor will it ever but how or can you seperate football and still fund all the other sports on campus?

Best case we go 3-4 in the final games.  Unless we win a couple in the SECT this is going to end up as a losing season.  Should have raised funds for the arena upgrade last year.

Yeah, we just dipped below and probably won't get back to it again. Well, I guess maybe if we beat Missouri and Vanderbilt back to back at home after losing to Aggy.

Saturday's game – if I wanted to go – what should I expect to pay?  I literally thought with our season, and the SEC WINLESS Missourah Tigahs, it would be "next to free."

I use several ticket apps. The first I looked at TFL (TicketsForLess) starts at 50-something in the nosebleeds and 200 in the lower bowl.  What. The. Fuck.  This isn't Arkansas-Kentucky when we're both in the Top 10.

Then I checked SeatGeek and things are much more reasonable, numerous listings start in the 20s but those all look like upper deck.

There are several others I could check but thought I would crowd source for info first. Thoughts? What should I be paying? Also, in the current iteration of BWA, which I attend less than I do RRS, can you buy upper and sit lower if there are empty rows?

I used seat geek for the Tennessee game in the bud. $11 each for upper deck behind the goal.  The fees and taxes weren't bad, $64 something was the checkout total.

So few people showed up we went down to the lower bowl on the side court after the game started and no one said a word. Granted, we didn't plop down in the front row either.

Not so fast. If we win our last 3 home games (Mizzou, Vandy and LSU)we go into SEC tournament 1 game above 500, so looks like 500 season at worst. Of course we'll probably do a WTF in one of those games
