I've been thinking this since his last analysis of the Enos offense and focus on on YAC.

He specifically called out that Rocket was tops by far in the SEC last year for yards before contact, but among the lowest ranking in YAC. Conversely, Johnson led the conference in YAC in 2021.

Not to take anything away from Rocket, but we could see much more Dubinion and Johnson this season.

Briles may eventually grow up and stop calling an offense like he's 10 years old playing Madden. TCU is going to score a lot of points this season regardless...their defense may not stop anybody though based on their Colorado performance.

I for one was glad to see us not resort to trick plays against a fucking FCS team.

We had more than a couple third and long plays and Enos drew up "levels" plays that had someone open short, middle, and deep. I think we converted a 3rd and 8 or so with a 12 yard gain

Every time I see that RB screenplay that went nowhere I think Rocket could have gotten a big gain if he'd just cut upfield a little faster.

I wonder if this was post-knee injury.  Maybe he didn't have it in him to cut that sharply. 

That play reminds me of Enos's first tenure here.  Chaney's fat ass kept telling us for two years that we couldn't run screens because his line couldn't block for them.  Enos comes in and we start hitting a couple of big ones every game it seemed, with pretty much the exact same players on the OL.

He cuts inside better and it's likely a TD. The safety had peeled off to the middle of the field, and he had Broden as a lead blocker.

Yes it was there with a bit better execution between the ball carrier and the blocker...those plays are so critical with the timing being just right can't be there too soon or too late or it just won't work. You also can't run right into the block with blinders on. The more I watch that play though I'd have to say the throw was on time, Sanders was where he was supposed to be and Crawford was a bit late getting there to seal it off. It was a heck of a play by the DB too. It's a lot easier for us to sit here and say the guy should go full speed and cut damn near 90 degrees...I can see where a runner like Alex would have been a bit more patient and cut that up field.

The play initially looked like some Briles bullshit that never worked.  On replay, you can clearly see the play was there.  Rocket made a mistake, in my estimation.  Now knowing that his knee was messed up, that would certainly explain his inability to hit holes and make the yards he should have.
