Home court used to be a five point advantage.  I'd say in the SEC now it is more like ten or fifteen.  I know people are going to say that the SEC doesn't have exclusive basketball officials and these guys ref other games and all that, but the officiating is different.  The home team seems to get all the foul calls.  Throw in things like being comfortable shooting on your own rims with a big free throw disparity caused by officiating it differently and these five or six point wins turn into fifteen point blowouts for the home team.

And it's really noticeable now with the quality of the league.  In Nolan's day, maybe we only won by ten or twelve on the road, squeaked one out, or lost a close one.  Now, a good team that doesn't need much help puts a drubbing on you. 

Florida goes to Kentucky gets beat then beats the shit out of the number one team at home.  Arkansas will have some home wins that make you think we're back and then drop the next one on the road.  Blame the officiating more than anything.

I certainly hope the Hogs have a better game plan Saturday than we did.  Ours obviously didn't work very well.  We played decent defense but our offense was atrocious.  Not tough at all with the ball.

That's actually one of my good friends, her nephew, Aiden. Coach Cal used to meet up with Aiden at games all the time. Even got him seats on the bench at Rupp one year during College Gameday.
