Let's get grit in front of every recruit on campus why don't we.
That guy should not be allowed to contact any of our recruits. Jesus.

Whittlin exhibition.

I agree, but have you seen some of the recruiting reporters from other schools?

The "slovenly goofball recruiting writer" is right there with "crazy fans on the internet" in terms of effect on recruiting.   It's a constant, not a variable.

Don't forget the ho-down and square-dancin.  We gotta give them the REAL Silver Dollar City experience.

That Lakers jersey has to be unrecognizable by now with all the grease stains on it.

Arkansas=Branson
Ole Miss=Las Vegas

Geez, which do you choose. We should never be behind Ole Miss in anything, but here we are. Ole Miss is in the poorest state in the Union and competing against Mississippi State. Either we start acting like a big time program or accept our fate as the "Vandy of the West"

Let's face it. Our football program died when BMFP was canned. We have tried to revive it with holistic medicine instead of life saving procedures from real doctors with degrees. We are on life support and still in ICU after all these years. Unfortunately, we are getting worse. We are just before straight lining.
Well, shit...

I agree. So many errors.

As much as I like the idea of BMFP, it is going to take lot more to recover or save.

I just don't see it getting done with the current staff, the portal, and NIL competition.

The current portal exports and imports are concerning compared to others like Ole Miss, Colorado, etc.

It is going to be hard to watch and I just do it now with a lot less emotional or financial investment.

Pretty much this.

A friend of my dad's who has season tickets this year, because of the hone schedule. After that he doesn't know what he is going to do.

I am still on the fence. If they raise donation levels and/or ticket prices, I will go through with not getting them and just plan to tailgate.

I expect the Texass tickets to be an expensive part of the package.

Yeah, in the 90s we were bad but we were trying to climb the mountain.  Nutt for all his faults did well enough to make us want more.  Petrino proved we were right in expecting it.  But since then?  We act like beat down dogs.  As much shit as we gave the Broyles GOBN they at least expected us to do well.  This current bunch seems to think we should be happy to be cellar dwellers.

This right here.
I do hope that BMFP can give us a spark on offense and at least help us compete.  It's much easier to sell the program on a new staff when we don't look absolute shit.  However, I don't think the staff will get it done long term at all.  Free agency is making things even harder, and everyone knows that Pittman is basically on life support.  I did hope we could pull out some talent from the portal again this year, but seems like that won't happen either.  Which really sucks, because next year's schedule features every team I truly hate at our house... going to be another long year, I predict.

red death

I happen to believe, with good enough evidence, that we have a culture going back 50 years of donors more interested in mah grandson or mah boy playing for the Hogs than their interest in us winning.

That's right, there's not the will to win by our largest donors.  More of how much can I control and can I get my way.

We could win easily.  But we'd have to change the culture first.  And every time someone tries they get canned.

I know of one donor, big one, who turned on Nolan because his son didn't get a scholarship.   His son sucked.  But it started the undermining that got to Broyles, who was already wanting to fire him, even though he won our only thing of significance that everyone agrees on.

Many such cases.  You want to know why Sam is still here?  He's playing the right game.  I'm not going to spell it all out but there are some players playing above better players because some asses Sam is damn sure kissing and that's what matters up there now, and really always has.

It's a big club, and we ain't in it.

I won't pretend I know anything about the bulk of the donors to the program. I can speculate perhaps fairly accurately that the UA has produced it's share of reasonably wealthy people many of which have probably had careers with big retail, banking, and whatever else.

I can further speculate that our problem may be that we aren't getting donors from your wealthy 30 and 40 something crowd and the old money people haven't really clued into how all this shit works now.

Oh and let's review here...the same types of people who have been asked to donate to the UA for years and now supposed to shit out rainbows for NIL money too for a program that continues to piss it's pants.

The Whyte Boar

Most everyone I know who has been really successful at some point took on the kind of risk/debt that would make most of us lose sleep.  Some of them went bust several times.  Ole Miss is reaching for the brass ring right now.  They might go bust, but they might just hit it big too.  We, on the other hand, are living hand to mouth while we brag about how frugal we're being and how much we are going to enjoy retirement with all the money we've saved.

Our leadership lacks vision and thinks financial security in the athletics department is an end in and of itself instead of a means to an end.  All the money in the world does no good if you don't win.  And if you don't win, the money starts drying up eventually.

Wouldn't be the last time a nepo baby's grandfather would fuck up our program
