Some guy got on there and said he never wanted Lamar Jackson and that Jackson was all set to transfer to LSU but ended up staying put despite Petrino. The caller was clearly a LSU fag and made statements saying that Jackson didn't fit the Petrino offense and he never wanted a mobile QB. None of that was true. He recruited that big guy that later transferred to NC State that was a mobile qb who would have likely played over Brandon Allen had Petrino remained as HC.

The deal with Petrino historically he's won with different kinds of QBs and changed his offense to suit his talent. Lamar Jackson in college was certainly not a skilled passing QB. He got better but mainly he was another Matt Jones type guy that made video game moves that no coach could ever design for. Petrino harnessed that and made him into a NFL caliber passer. He followed that up by attempting to do it again with the Cunningham kid and it failed badly thus why his run at Louisville flamed out in spectacular fashion.

Before anyone yammers on about it. Does it really matter if he flames out at Arkansas in a few years if it means we win some fucking games in the mean time? Chances are it's going to be a deal where we've seen this movie. When things go bad they fucking go bad at Arkansas regardless who the coach is or talent on the field and that's gotten worse with NIL/Portal. Guys can punk out and hop in the portal now and end up in better financial shape.

The other response to anyone complaining that he doesn't want a mobile QB... Ryan Mallett.  That dude was the opposite of mobile but he could still avoid sacks and pressure in the pocket.  If the coach can build the offense around him then it doesn't matter how fast the QB is.
