Saban left a NFL team hanging and was praised for his courage.

Exactly.  How long was Bama paying players before it became quazi-legal to do so?  Then, when everyone else started doing it out in the open, and parity increased for other schools, THAT'S when he started whining.

I realize youre a lawyer, but this is not a courtroom. 

But I guess we're just supposed to believe that Saban signed the #1 class every year for a decade and didnt break the rules? Never mind the players, companies, NFL people, the list goes on, of all the people who claim to have first hand knowledge of Alabamas cheating?

I follow college football fairly close, maybe not as close as you.  Where are all these people?  I have never heard of them and all this "first hand knowledge" of Alabama's cheating.  I am aware of the Auburn mess with Cam Newton.  What have I missed?  Enlighten me.

Alabama cheated.  They cheated just as badly under Shula, Dumbose, Franchione, and every other coach they've had.  Saban didn't win because of the cheating.  He took advantage of it to beat a bunch of other teams who also cheated.

Auburn has obviously been mentioned.  LSU used money embezzled from a children's hospital to buy players.  Tennessee has always had their hands dirty.  Poor Ole Miss has cheated as much as any of them and doesn't even have a division championship to their name. 

We are pretty much the only program in the league naive enough to try to do it "the right way."   Or at least to pretend to.

I can't tell you what the rest of the league did or didnt do regarding the allegations.  I also cant tell you whether the allegations wouldve satisfied the burden of proof required by a court of law, or the Commissioner, to prove them guilty. I can tell you that over the last 20 years TV contract money has gone ape shit, and it no doubt benefitted the entire SEC, including the SEC Commissioners office, to not levy sanctions against Bama.

So yes, counselor, the best I can give you is a shit load of allegations that span at least a decade or more, of Alabama cheating by paying players either with cash, improper benefits, etc., or all the above.

A poster on TD wrote that she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer.  Probably bullshit but you never know.  What we do know is coaches of his age who leave the game don't tend to be in good shape after a few years.  Hope retirement is good to him.
