May be great for us.

Giants hire Vitello, and after he flames out in a few years he can come home as DVH's successor.

If only God didn't hate the Razorbacks.

Well I guess Tennessee can stop adding onto the baseball stadium now.  They'll never get a better one.

Plus, we don't have to see the fucking daddy hat and mink stole those faggorts wore after a score.

I'm on smoko, so leave me alone.

At least until DVH retires and we bring Tony home.

Smart move by him really.  He knows he wasnt to be the next Hog coach.  He cares too much to piss off Vol nation.  What does he do?  Takes an MLB job, spend a few years out of the spot light, then comes home.  Its a Hallmark movie really.

There would have been too much pressure for Tony to leave UT for Arkansas.  Not only that but some of his stuff that grates on opposing fans' nerves would have been too fresh on everyone's memory.  Few around here watch Giants games, so he'll be under the radar and Hog fans will have moved onto another villain by the time Dave hangs 'em up.

I'll be amazed if Hobbs or Thompson doesn't replace DVH.  They may very well be on the list to replace Vitello.

It seems like it would have to be Hobbs, but I'm not sure if that's what we want even if Tony isn't the choice.

Everyone thought Earley would just keep the train running at aTm this year when Schloss left, with basically the same roster that went to the CWS finals.

Agree. Not sold that's out best option but I think DVH may encourage it.

Let me see if I follow your theory. Manager of the San Francisco Giants is "out of the spotlight" compared to Tennessee baseball in Knoxville.

I need one of those "not sure if serious" tags.

vegashog

walked away from the largest college baseball contract ever, so his deal with the giants is pretty sweet i bet. unless he totally bombs he'll get three years at least.

i wonder if dvh waits that long before retiring.

So any Tennessee players that have graduated can play right off the bat if they portal? We could use a pitcher or 3.

There are probably more Tennessee baseball fans in Arkansas than there are SF Giants fans.  Out of the spotlight in Arkansas is probably what he meant, and it makes perfect sense.

When Tony is competing with us for SEC titles and we have to watch his players act like douchebags, he's got our full attention.  99.9% of the people who watch Hog baseball won't see Tony as Giants manager once, or if they do it will only be when they're playing the Cards, Cubs, Braves, Astros, etc. twice per year.

Perfect sense? Like if the faculty head of the theater department at UT-K steps "out of the spotlight" by taking a leading role on Broadway, just so in the future they can land their coveted role at the Arkansas Repertory Theater?

Yes, everything I posted was super duper serious.

I'd go try for Wes before I offed Hobbs.  Wes is proving his ability at Georgia.  Hobbs is still a TBD.

After short reflection, this might be the gayest post ever made on the woopigs.
