I think Tang is probably a solid choice if it's even possible to build a program like Baylor has. He spent damn near 20 years there before going to K-state. He's not going to wow you or "win the press conference" or regale you with tells from the league...he probably would do well with recruiting though. He's not a legit TOP 10 coach, probably would be closer to Mike Anderson than Muss. He's a bit old for the head coaching experience. So yes there are concerns.

I really liked the way K-state played in 22/23 where he had a little Arlen Bowers type point guard that looked like he was fight any fuckin body. They had some strong guards and forwards and could body up on some dudes but weren't "athletes"...but actual basketball players. I'm not scared of Tang at all but would rather take a flyer on Wade. If Wade can take a shit program like McNeese and go to the dance then he can recruit and coach.

Yeah but USC is the only one that was open on the West Coast. I think he'd have a hard time going from here to one of those schools.

Quote from: BleedinRed on Apr 05, 2024, 04:46 PMFuck where this is heading.  My give a shit towards Razorback athletics has been heading down since the motorcycle crash.   I got a temporary shot with both Pittman and Musselman.   Both can fuck off with HY.

The DVH led baseball team is all we have left.  Once he is gone, there will be nothing left and I'll most likely be gone too.
Giving up season tickets was the best decision I ever made. Very freeing. Now in September I watch while bobbing in the lake. Just marginally emotionally invested.

Hell, I think I'd rather take a flyer on Smart than Tang.

Hire this guy!

The wheels were set in motion for Enfield to SMU and Muss to USC. Enfield is not a terrible coach and they let him walk out of the building and got their man.

We let our guy walk out of the building, finger fuck at least two programs and still had to go play hide and go fuck ourselves. Lack of leadership may be a real issue but I think that's code for "didn't get what I wanted" Muss wanted BWA improvements, more money, and likely better NIL assurances.

I had wondered if we let him walk because there are things about what went on that didn't please certain big money people (gay stuff/losing) letting the same player quite 2 or 3 times and come back...

Anyway yeah HY had an opportunity and he blew it.
