Some like to say that Arkansas coaching searches are like a box of chocolates.

I believe they're more like that jelly bean game where you don't know if you're about to bite into something that tastes like pomegranate or moldy cum sock... and 87% of the jelly beans are moldy cum sock flavored.

Why not take a look at Coby Karl? NBA pedigree was head coach in the G-league for a bit...think he's an assistant in Philly right now. Will probably get an NBA head coaching gig pretty soon though.

G-League head coaches are the best untapped resources.

They coach on a very high level; are hungry to prove themselves; often have to make adjustments to their approach when key players get called up; and are tremendous in-game thinkers.

Can start them with less pay and they will kill themselves to prove they can do it. Also, they know real talent when they see it and understand how rosters should be built.

I don't know why they haven't been poached much from the big leagues.

Karl won a G-league title last season and is highly regarded as one of the best young NBA assistants. Corliss is a career NBA assistant coach that failed badly at UCA and everyone before and after him also failed badly at UCA. I think for his sake the UA would probably never risk tarnishing the legend of Corliss. Chasing after 1994...30 years later reeks of desperation and I'd like to think we are beyond that but perhaps not. Muss proved a half way competent coach could win here again. 

$upport may be the flashing red light above the Arkansas name right now but if that's the case there have to be a lot of programs in the same shape.

Darrell Walker is one thing...the guy has been a head coach at the NBA and college level. You can say he's paid his dues and might even do a good job. I think for him the deal is he didn't exactly light the world on fire as an NBA head coach and has been competitive but not really moving beyond that at UALR. Simply put if you can't win in the Sun Belt or Ohio Valley or whatever the fuck then you aren't winning shit in the SEC.

There's a coach down at National Park Community College in Hot Springs, Dillon Hargrove.  He just won a national championship with the Nighthawks. 31-1 on the season.  He's the guy when all else fails.

Said back when people wanted to fire Muss, we could so a lot worse.

I do think Wade is a decent coach. He won more at LSU than anyone since Shaq was there. He also won big at VCU and won 30 at McNeese St.

But yes. he is punchable.
