All that stuff about how Beard really wanted this job BAD. Was bullshit. Beard really wanted our job to help him get more money out of Ole Miss. HY and possibly our big donors played the fool here.

There have been tactical errors made by HY that are basically unforgivable in both major sports. You don't get into a bidding war with someone like Ole Miss not because we can't out spend them. We simply won't and it's been proven time and time again. Better to navigate around those waters when possible. Otherwise you risk being seen as an equal to them or worse Mississippi's prison bitch. We should never be competing with them for a head coach in a major sport. Even Frank fucked around and found that out when trying to hire Tuberville away from Ole Miss. Ignore Frank's blunders late in his reign...otherwise in comparison he comes off looking far more professional than HY or Long who are rear echelon types all the way. HY just wants to look good in a sports jacket and maybe somehow waggle his way into Jerry Jones' will.

Do we literally over value Fayetteville/UA and under value places like Oxford, Ms and Starkville? Oxford has newer facilities I believe for basketball but cannot possibly compare in game day atmosphere. In any case I'll make a prediction right now that Beard won't be at Ole Miss this time next season unless they are still playing in the tournament.
