Show-Me Hog

Quote from: Usafhawg on Mar 16, 2025, 02:17 PMSeriously, who doesn't want the best player on our team to come back? Please post now. Not when we happen to lose.

What I don't want is for everyone to stand around waiting for Boogie to do something.  Everyone right now is a lot more engaged than they used to be.  Not saying that's Boogie's fault, but it did happen a lot.
Never squat with your spurs on!

We need players. Period. Glad he is back.
Well, shit...

Should be easy to quote then.

Are you serious??

I said no one complained about Boogie being a ball hog and if they did it's an awful take. You replied that you're too lazy to look it up but that you mentioned it when we were losing.

Do you not remember that part of the conversation from an hour ago??

Neither do I. Run the same stuff we have been running and plug Boogie in when needed. We've been playing Billy out of position as a backup PG. Add a true PG and let Billy do what he does best.

I was too loose with the part of you I quoted.  As our conversation has gone on I have made my position clear.

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Mar 16, 2025, 12:38 PMI remember making the point when Boogie was playing and we were losing, that it's not a good setup to have your point guard be your leading scorer and most frequent shooter. PG should be the distributor and facilitator.

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Mar 16, 2025, 02:16 PMI never blamed Boogie. If anything, it was a criticism of coaches for setting up our team where the leading scorer was also the PG. Not his fault, but not optimal.

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Mar 16, 2025, 02:28 PMI want him to come back. We desperately need players. And he's a good one.

I want him to be used differently than how he was used before he got hurt.

Based on the last thing you said, hell we might even be in agreement since it's so close to my last quote.  Peace, love, and harmony, brother.

Quote from: Barton Fink on Mar 16, 2025, 02:37 PMWhat about Sears with Bama last year? Walter Clayton? Josh Hubbard?  We made an elite 8 with Notae at ;D PG.

Pro's Ja, Curry, SGA are all scoring PG's on teams that have success.

Why is that an issue? I honestly think it's a plus.

Hey, why are you brining facts to this debate!

Let's just agree that we are both right.   ;D

Barton Fink

Amen. I just want to win. We need bodies and we're getting a good player back.

I concede on the side I am wrong.  :leo:

Boogie being back is a net positive.  And we are going to win our first round game.

After we get to the elite 8 or final 4, do we have to worry about someone stealing Cal in the offseason?

Some of you guys will just haggle over anything. Just admit you are wrong and move on. Boogie was a ball hog that didn't shoot that much but dominated the ball so of course his assists were up. :stache:
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Bleacher Report has us as an 11 seed, playing UCLA (#6). Winner to play.....winner of Grand Canyon v Kentucky. You can guess where that would be.
I need help and I know it.

Will their women's coach be there?

Not Kentucky.

Is there any chance Thiero returns or is that a pipe dream? I don't follow NBA at all so I'm not sure of his draft potential. If he's not a first rounder wouldn't our NIL package be the more attractive option? I'm assuming we'll get Knox and Richmond back but could see Z going pro somewhere. Add a couple of legit veteran bigs from the portal to go with the freshman guards and we'll be pretty salty.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

vegashog

it's not the one year nil payment these guys would be worried about. it's getting into their rookie contract. the standard exception deal for a mid 2nd round pick is:

$1.157 mil 1st year
$1.955 mil 2nd year
$2.296 mil 3rd year
$2.486 for the team option season

he's projected as a late 1st, early 2nd rounder even with him not playing down the stretch. i personally doubt arkansas is going to, or is giving him, over what he could make his first season in nba.

Doc Hogaday

It is my understanding that Thiero has played his last game at the U of A. A week or 2 ago I saw some mocks that had him going ahead of Boogie. Around the 25th-ish pick I believe. A lot more should come out about the extent of what's been going on w/ his injuries in the pre-draft process.

As far as Z, I've wondered if the Ivisic brothers have a dream to play one more year...together. Illinois Ivisic is currently a projected 2nd rounder. Would they play here together, or would they play at Illinois? What would it cost us? Would Cal want that?

I'm also hoping we could get the Owen Freeman kid...transfer big from Iowa.

And still have an unfounded belief (hope) that Cal has kept his henchmen in touch w/ Quaintance at Arizona State. Would love to have him here for his sophomore year.
Pants ironed and back for more

Also, found this pullover zip that Calipari wore the other day.  It is a baseball pullover.  I got mine today.  It runs a size small in my opinion but still works.  You cannot view this attachment. It is THICK.  More of an early spring/fall pullover.
