We could very well get Z back and big men tend to develop slower so getting Z as a 3rd year player is not necessarily a bad thing. He's certainly got his moments when he's healthy. I think we need a couple Kamni type guys on this roster that don't cost much if anything, just plant them and when we need a hatchet man you put them in.

Also I'd rather have a 20 year old than a baby out of high school but I figure if that dude that's probably going to Dook if he were to commit here I figure they'll find a spot.

Can an NBA player who went straight from high school to the pros also go back and play college ball?

If so, I can think of some 40+ year olds we should sign yesterday.

Still, can we sign an nba player who never played college ball?

From an NCAA perspective, what is the difference?  Professional is professional.

per the ncaa, an athlete cannot go (or go back) to college and play in the same sport he signed a professional contract for. why that is i have no idea.

i know a few ex-mlb players have gone back to college and played other sports. we have one of those on the football team.

It will happen eventually. Somebody will go pro after a couple years in college, ride pine in the NBA or G League for a couple years, maybe play a couple years in Europe, then come back to "finish their education". Petition the NCAA to play and win. NCAA doesn't have the power they once did.

Rtail played professionally in Lebanon.  He has signed to play for the Hogs.  did he play for free?

Yeah, they don't have high school sports like we do.  The good basketball players start playing professionally at 13 to 15 years old.

sure ok unreasonable to make the remainder of ball to wait for another couple weeks for the season to end.

Overall I don't know that it's a big big deal...I doubt you'll have very many players announce they are portal bound while still participating in the dance. Perhaps behind closed doors but I doubt anything will be made public until after the season has met it's end. I think Cal probably wants to know who's he's counting on to be back so he's probably going to try to get some answers to those questions sooner rather than later so he can send staff out to do their bag man thing.

I can somewhat understand if you're up against a school semester but you're not. No reason not to wait a couple more weeks.
